Default question about Vipers

ok my girlfreinds neighbor has a Viper that he got new a few years back new. I think its an 03 but anyways hes always joking about racing and how he'd smoke me which i know he would. i'm just curious as to what they run. I mean winter is pretty much here and theres no racing going down soon but I figure I should have him by the Spring time if they run mid to high 11's cuz thats my goal. so what times will i need to take his ass out? lol

HA! you have no clue. vipers are slow for the car they represent. like unless hes got some serious tire and a numerically lower gear ratio then you can take him as he sits. hell spin those street tires all the way down the track. if you really want to add something in order to secure your victory then buy a set of M/T ET STREETS. they took off 7 tenths off of my 1/4 and will probably take even more off your ET

I have seen Vipers run from high 12's to high 10's. I think stock with a good driver they are definitley in the 11's.

My neighbor has one, u goota be a good driver. A lot of those owners think their vipers are fast and they are so cocky that they dont know how to drive them.

yeah slicks is something i need to look into.

at the track i have seen some run low 12's and i have seen one guy running a high 12 but i thought that it was that he couldn't drive.

i have no clue what they run just know they have 500hp so i figured they would be a high 11. also he has stock tires and gears. the car is bonestock and he plans on keeping it that way. he has owned some go fast cars including mustangs and doesn't want another track beast just a car that he knows is fast. but man his mouth won't stop popping off lol. i just once need to show him whats up and put him in his place.

d-k has also lost to a stock RX8...

an 03 viper, with a competant driver, should get into the 11s, stock. if it is an srt10 viper, even spinning hard through the first few gears, it should be even with your 12.60s. if it is pre-"Srt era", it should be good for low 12s stock, with an experienced driver. take this as you will, but most magazines put them around 11.80, with stock tires. if it is a stock non-srt, you may give him a good run, especially if you can get into the lower 12s...

there is a guy at my home track that has one of each era, and his srt10 viper runs 11.70s, with a little better than stock tires, but like many have said here, if he is some pretentious moron who has deep pockets and no driving skill, he might be a "miss every gear" guy, and run mid 14s...

well i will start working on my suspension soon as it is stock as it sits now.

also i am getting a stall converter soon to to go with the suspension. im hoping for a 12 flat after doing that.

and sometime before springs starts im doing h/c/i which will hopefully put me at a mid to low 11 if all goes right.
