I was thinking about this on the way to work this morning. There ought to be a way to get cold air to our carbs. I am envisioning some sort of plastic tubing similar to the KYN type of hook up like is on my 03 Mach. Run that out the front somehow. Maybe even into the inner fender like the 90's models have. But, the catch would be how to attach it to the carb. I can't quite get a grip on that design yet. Help me out here all you wizards. Here is one such experiment that gets us started in the right direction. http://carcraft.com/techarticles/56419/

They did, and it showed a significant gain. We all know that cold air induction is best, we just have to figure out how we can get that cold air to our carb systems.
ORIGINAL: Soaring The only missing link is a way to get the air from the outside.
Yeah sorry, that wasnt too clear. That's really what Im talking about. Some kind of tube with a cone filter on the end. It really should go off the passenger side and take air from the battery vent (permitted that you relocate the battery).
I was considering doing something like that a few months ago. Im thinking about cutting a hole in the passenger inner fender and run it through there up to the snorkel. Then close off the snorkels below inlet, so it wont suck up the warm air.

Thats what the one in the picture of mine does, but they have two inlets. They put a screen so no bugs would get threw. That would work great for high speed driving.
Didn't we see a picture on here, where somebody ran a piece of the black pipe you run underground, as a cold air intake? that was funny.
This?
I tell you what,. Back in the 30's and 40's, the rednecks out ran the cops in their hopped up cop cars while running illegal booze fron their distillaries. So, don't put down a redneck's ability to hot rod a car. And even though it is a 6 banger, this guy is probably getting cooler air to his carb than any of us are. If it works, it works. Yes we can sit back and disdain it. But the concept is clear. Cold air to the carb. There just has to be a more efficient and eye appealing mechanical way to do it. The same results will most liklely be evident, but just more mechanically and visually appealing.
