WARNING!!!! When you buy the friction modifier, be sure to get the right one. There are 2 kinds. 1 for dyno oil lube, and one for synthetic. When I bought the stuff from RPM, they sold me the dyno oil type. ANd I put it in with Royal Purple Synthetic lube. Now, it didn't matter much, cus I just changed it after the break in peroid. Less than 1000 miles.
Here are the Ford part numbers
Dyno type lube......M19546A
Synthetic type.......ML1174
THERE IS A DIFERENCE

what are the differences between the 7.5, 8.8 and the other sizes (in inches)? Sorry, I'm no mechanic. :)

The 7.5 is the smallest and weakest of the choices. UNFORTUNATLY, it comes in all the V6's. The 8.8 comes in the V8's. For the most part, the 7.5 will be more than enough for MOST V6 applications. Unless you are going with mega power. Like a supercharger, turbo charger etc.

Or upgrade the dif of the 7.5. The Auburn possi unit is strong enough to support the power.

Is the auborn possi and the t-lock the exact same thing...as in they have all the same parts in them (not just do the same thing)?

Same thing, diferent manufacturer. The Auburn is a tougher unit, but costs more.

How much top end speed are you going to lose with changing gears out

actually you would probably gain it because the gears would keep you in the power band, as is stock its a long time to get up with the stock 3.27s or 2.73s depending on which you have, i was with my buddy and he hit 140 in a GT with 3.27s and we buried the needle with 4.10s

your going to need a barring kit also, y? because u dont want old barrings on new parts.
if your lookin to get rid of the 1 wheel burn outs go with a t-lok and if your looking to puch your car to 350+wrhp then get a Detroit TrueTrac

Hey guys,
First of all let me say thanks for this thread, it has been very helpful.  I have a 2000 V6 auto that I'm planning on putting 4.10s in.  I have looked at a bunch of different websites that sell the parts looking for the best deals.  Anyway,  I think I have everything I need.  Could you guys just look over the parts I'm planning on ordering to make sure I'm not leaving anything out?  Thanks.

4.10 Ring & Pinion Gears: http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=G&Product_Code=M4209L410&Category_Code=38L

Friction Modifier: http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=G&Product_Code=M19546A12

Also, I already have an X-Cal II so I can change the gear ratio in my computer.  Please let me know if there is anything else I need, or if one of the parts I'm planning to order is wrong.  Thanks!
