I'm not exactly sure what it is, but most will tell you to go with 3.73's AND a T-Lok. Something about the final drive ratio in the auto vs manual. You have one more gear than the auto's do.

Everyone here says 373 for manual and 410 for auto, but everyone who goes 3.73 says they want 4.10's

You can get the parts through AutoBadges. He's a site sponsor, and the only one that is a regular here. Tell him I sent you! And any good shop can install them. Shop around. The install can cost from $200.00 to over $500.00. So shop around. If you have a shop near you that specializes in race cars, try them first. That's where I ended up. My local shop wanted over $600. But the race shop did it for $250.00. Diference is the local shop goes by "book rate". If they quote "book rate" RUN!
EDIT...
Don't forget the bearing kit, friction modifier, and dif fluid. I went with Royal Purple. It's the best, and it only cost me $15.00. So it's well worth it.

What size is the 04 V6 rearend? Is it 7.5 or 8.8? Or what. I went on E-bay to look around and all they had were 8.8 gears for 04 mustangs.

The bearing kit is needed, becasuse you don't want old bearings on a new unit, it comes with bearings, races, seals, and the OH SO NEEDED crush sleeve.
Friction modifier is REQUIRED for a possi unit. Without it, you would chew up the clutch plates in the T-Lok. Dif lube keeps the gears from chewing themselves up. It's not good running the rear end dry...

Depends on the lube you use, and your driving habits. Every 50-75k. I use synthetics. Royal Purple. It's probably the best. And it's not that expensive. Like $15.00.

PepBoys carries Royal Purple. You can get EquiTorque friction modifier and the bearing kit there too.

What he said. FRPP's are made of a harder metal. Much more superior. Put it this way, do you want to go through the expense of re-replacing them in a couple of years? Or SOONER??

Define MAD

So it's better at handling/distributing torque.

I was just thinking if I wanted to take my car out on a windy/bendy track with any hope of taking down some of the higher end competition, I was thinking of the 8.8" Rear End and the Torsen Differential from FRPP in addition to the suspension mods. If I'm going to get those then I would get either an aluminum or carbon fiber ($$$$$) drive shaft to boot.

Mad...FORCED INDUCTION...4.2 Stroker kit...N2O....MAD POWER! If you are just gonna do the bolt-ons, the 7.5 with 4.10's and T-Lok will do just fine
