Installs the same way as a fender well CAI, just unscrew your iat sensor, uninstall your stock air intake, remove the maf from the air box, remove the wire gause filter from the maf, then install the new cai, and screw in the iat sensor last. Oh, it is a good idea to unplug your battery.

For engine dress ups go to www.showstang.com and go through the sponsor page. Also visit www.mgwltd.com......www.mustangsunlimited.com and www.uprproducts.com for more dress ups.

i have a fenderwall CAI & i believe its a cheap one off ebay with a chrome pipe & blue filter on the end. & i love it. dont really see the point in the fancy MAC or BBK ones, the name is in the fenderwall & nobody is even going to see who it is made by. mine does the same thing & it was about 40bucks.

is it really neccesary to get a tune-up after installing a CAI? will the engine life be shortened if it runs too lean?
thanks in advance

No it is not needed. Some intakes will set off your engine light if its not programmed, but thats only on Cobras and machs

2004 3.9l, K&N does not recommend the CAI made for the 3.8. Probably just a CYA situation as the 3.9 is an oddball. So I'm just looking for confirmation that someone has installed either a K&N or MAC on the 3.9 with no issues. This appears to be the case but before I pony up the cash, just want to be sure.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

They're all equally as good as each other, solely looks come into play. Technically a fenderwell CAI is a hair pin more efficient than a MAC ram air because the ram air isn't a true ram air intake. Even functional ram airs are limited as you have to be going fairly fast for them to have any effect on hp.
