Ahhh, this was a near and dear race for me as I sold my highly modified S to get the Mustang...
I have C&L intake and 93 Octane Tune. Dude wouldn't line up with me so it was more of a, he punches it I follow suit. From 60 - 90 I was only inching up on him, 90-110 I pulled about 1/2 a car, 110+ it was lights out as I ran away from him. About what I expected from an essentially stock S. Good race though, I miss the handling, but I love the torque.
Enjoy.

60-90 is the sweet spot for the S. One of the reasons it will hang with cars it shouldn't from a roll. When I would go to group outings with other S drivers, numerous stock S2000's were going 13.7@ 102, put a 400 dollar set of gears in it and now your talking 13.4@105, throw 75 shot of nitrous on top of that for 600 dollars and you are going 12.8@109... like I was doing. Problem was it was my daily driver and 85mph in 6th gear was around 5600rpms.

The newer and older ones aren't really that different, they have 10 spoke rims as opposed 5 spokes for the 00-03s, updated front/rear fascias, and the newer ones have a 2.2 with an 8k redline and a smidgen more torque instead of the 2.0 with a 9k redline.
