v-6 brakes compared to v-8

i am converting my mustang to a v-8. now the v-6 brakes were 9.25" and v-8 are 10". when i put on my new hubs and drums is there anything special i need to do to convert to 10" brakes? or were the bigger drums and pads just for stopping power and fit regardless?</P>
