i would deffinatley pull the motor, trans, and rearend and start with a good strong base. beef up the rearend, and trans and put the rest of the money in the motor. Do lots of research and shopp around.

payments for installed, like 2000
so theres like 9 grand in parts.. 2 grand install.. and you have a motor pushing limit of a stock block, but all weak rods, etc etc.. and a tranny thats gonna blow in about 10 seconds, and a rearend which is still stock with gears...
(moparman is canada, so canadian funds)
myself i would do.. get a tremec 3550 tranny maybe used for 1000
31 spline carrier and axles, gears, 800
6 point cage, 350
racing seats/5 points 500
there you have like 3500 for a motor, id find a complete one for sale used, that has about 400 hp for 2500, then have 1000 for suspension..control arms, springs, etc..
by the way... then it wont be done.. a car is never done :P you will still need to upgrade ignition, fuel system..etc..etc.. but that would give the car a good kick in the beans
Yes, Im just naming parts. He said speed and speed first so I just named off ****...lol But like I said off the top of my head, there is a million options. And true install if you dont do them yourself will cost alot also. And dc_mann8 $330 for a tri-axe short shifter!?!?! Heck no, try around $179 or $200 tops.
Dont go crazy spending 6 grand off the bat take your time and do 1 thing at a tme and go on fromg there , get a full exhaust system , gears with re build rearend , full bolt ons and h/c/i ... should run u 6k
