My car is freakin slow...coming home from school today one of my friends in her 99 Jeep Cherokee started ridin my ass so i slowed down to about 20mph and then floored it, i pulled a little, but she never got farther than 2 car lenths and i got up to 85mph...is my car just that damn slow or are those jeeps fast? Im just slow arnt i? lol

i dont think your car is slow.....those jeeps are quick for an suv. my friend had one, and one of my other friends' mom had one. theyre quick for a full bodied suv. especially if it has a v8 and not the 4.0

I have a jeep grand cherokee with a V8, that thing hauls for a 5000 pounds SUV. When it came out a few years ago, it was the quickest SUV besides the BMW X5, but now that porsche SUV is. I dont know if its this year, but they are going to be putting HEMI's in them, and there will be a SRT version also. That thing is supposed to be crazy fast. I wouldnt say your car is slow, its fuggin ford for making there only sport car suck ass slow. I have an 02 GT and i am pissed that family cars can keep up with me. WTF was ford thinking. Dont get me wrong, i still love my stang, but i wish it was at least 300 rwhp from the factory.
LOL yea theres no glass in my sig, i suck at photoshop, and i thats the only way i kno how to get rid of the background in in the windows....Her jeep is the 4.0 sixer...yea i love my stang too, and yea it makes me mad that pretty much every other car can stay with me or beat me...o'well
And no i havnt been to the track im trying to go this week or next tho

Dude I hope you have an auto tranny, because if you have a manual somethings wrong. Now granted the 94-98 GTs and V6s aren't the fastest things on Earth, but you should at least be running 14s in the quarter and should be hitting 60 in about 7 seconds with a manual.

there is a guy that went to my college and he had a grand cherokee with AWD and a 5.9 v8. that thing was damn fast out of the hole. he ran me and a guy in my class with a roush and neither of us could gain much on him. he has a sh!tload of mods, though

jeeps make a ****load of torque i had a 5.2L GRAND CHEROKEE AND A 5.9l GRANDCHEROKEE AND with nitrous on the 5.2L i was hitting 13.4 till i got greedy and blew the head gaskets
Sorry, I don't know what they're like with maybe a built tranny or some of the other mods- but stock they should only be able to hit maybe a mid-low 15 the V8's.. The V6 in this case probably only hits a high 15 if it's lucky. I'm gonna say your car just didn't take the right gear or something? any 94 and up mustang with a V8 should be able to beat any Jeep in stock form. *shrug*?? I'd guess theres a reason, I don't imagine driver played much part in that race.
I agree his car would be in the high 14's most likely. The Cherokee on the other hand with a 4.0L V6 would most likely be in the high 15's and thats not "close" behind, or even "not far behind" thats a pretty significant difference.
Yea i dont think it hit gears right or somthin, cause i was going about 30 when i hit it, and it seemed slower than normal. Saying my car would run high 14's isnt being a dick its the truth,i kno i got a slow stang but i still love it!!

the 4.0 jeep engine is a 2 degree inline six. lots of torque, but doesn't rev high

my friend has that same car, its a special edition from either 98 or 98. but yeah, its really fast for an suv.
basically, dont worry about it because the grand cherokees are quick suvs so your car isnt slow. and hey if you want some quick hp you could do CAI and a tune! -then youd get a little more than two car lengths on her
