Default Idle problem.

OK. i know it is a problem for all 5.0 but maybe you can help. I just changed my TB to 65mm and of course my idle is jumping up and down like crazy. Its fine when cold but when the car warms up, its like a roller coaster. I have tried everything. I adjusted the stop screw, and the TPS to .98. It seems like after I reset the computer for 15min. the car seems fine, but after I turn it off and restart it again its back to the old way. Kind of like the computer goes back to previous setting and does not want to remember the new setting. Any ideas on how to get rid of this problem. Please HELP!!!. Oh by the way the IAC screw is open 2 and a half turns. I think that this is the proper setting for that.

hey did you try unplugging the idle control valve when the cars cold and start it then play with the idle screw, then shut off the car and plug it back in again. or u could try taking off the idle control valve and cleaning it with carb cleaner. and try to snug down the 4 bolts on the TB again, when i did mine i checked the bolts and they where loose, hope this helps

Thanks for the help. I have tried unpluging the valve and adjusted the screw and it only works temporary. I don't know why the computer goes back to previous setting after I reset it. I had also cleaned the valve as wel. I checked the TB bolts and even sprayed carb cleaner to see if there is a leak.

OK, Heres what you do to solve all your problems! first off clean the MAF. Take the black cover of the top of the MAF ( 2 torx's head screws, but i just used a pair of pliers ) and underneath you will find 2 wires. clean them off COMPLETELY! there cannot be a SPEC of carbon or dirt on them! then put it back on and unplug the battery for 15 minutes. before you put the terminals back on touch them together ( if they dont reach thats ok just put them back on ) then unplug the IAC and start the car with all accessories off. let it come up to operating temp. turn the idle screw till you find where you would like it to idle at. shut the car off and plug the IAC back in. Start the car again making sure that all accessories are OFF. let it run for a couple minutes then shut it back off. let it sit for 2 minutes. then turn ALL accessories ON ( IE Air conditioning, bright lights, ETC. ) after it has sat for 2 minutes start it up with the accessories on. and let it run for about 2 minutes. this just lets the the ECU learn the new settings . when u turn the acc. on, thats letting the comp-uter learn to make the car idle with the accessories on so it doesnt idle down come time to turn them on. Oh i almost forgot, after your doen with this, set the TPS voltage to .98-.99. There ya go, you idle surging problem is no more!
