Oh, and you also won't pay a gas guzzler tax with the new Z06. Unlike the 1000 in tax you had to pay on the 03 cobras, and the extra grand on the base price for the 04s. Not to mention the 3000 dollar gas tax on the 06 SRT10s.

Chevy has done some amazing **** with the Corvette.

It was $1300 on the GTO...

aside from the fact that he doesn't understand that the Zo6 shares nothing with the C6 other then some base looks. Thats still not the point one bit. No matter what car you have running fast weather it be a C5, a WS6, and 04 cobra, an STI, or a yugo, the fact remains that it's still not a Z06, and it's still not a mid-high 11 second car off the showrrom floor with a warrenty. Leave all your other thoughts aside because your totaly missing the point. Just because your against GM doesn't mean that any car thats as fast as it's ew flagship for cheeper is = to it in any respect. Thats why I used the enzo example, use what ever car you want, it doesn't matter what it is.

you gettin on my case ?? i agree that a c6 and a Z06 have nothing in common. ive read quite a few new Z06 articles. they completely redesigned the Z06 from the regular vette. it doesnt matter if i like chevy or not, i give props to whomever deserves it, and i did !!!! so id appreciate if you eased up off my back about it !

Well we will just have to wait and see, but remember the Saleens are not made as a regular prodution car from Ford, a more even comparison might be a Lingenfelter prepped Z06. In the mean time some cool links.

Check out the dry sump oiling system and the titainum rods, forged crank and pistons also (hello boost?)
http://www.sea6.com/
Just more facts and few vids.

According to birdie, the saleen is a production company since you can goto a dealership and buy them; which I think its a legit arguement, however I disagree since they do not actually build the car itself. The only car saleen can not be considered a tuner for is the s7.

JD, the z06 is not even close to a c6. Every aspect of the car is different (the looks are similar). And yeah you could build any car to have it go faster in a straight line. However you could not spend xxxxx$ on your cobra, my gt, a ws6, or whatever to make it handle and perform better other than straight line accel.

Someone mentioned the S7.....

Can I please just say that this is probably my all time favorite car. I think I would literally kill a man, literally, to own one of these. They made the newest ones TWICE as good by adding TWO more turbos it had before! (previously 0 =p).

And seriously, what other cars are out there that you could theoretically drive upside down at speeds above 135 mph?!? That is some serious downforce!

Sorry for the thread jack, but I'm seriously in love with that car.

Hey man, long time... I evacuated to baton rouge. After being there for ever they opened up Kenner on labor day. We left at 2 AM sunday and finaly got to the checkpoint at about 4:30 AM. We waited untill 6 AM when they let everyone in. Got to my APT and made teh choice to take as much as I could and go. My roof was collapsed a little bit and the apt that I shared a wall with was even worse. The apt under that one next to be was totaly missing the ceeling. I still ahve yet to hear from the APT but I bet they are still repairing that biudling not to mention the mold problems. So after having all my stuff out I was able to get back up to NC and am now staying with my mother. I'm going to be here from now on it would seem. Finaly last night I had a voicemail from my boss to call him. I'm sure that he is pissed but oh well, you gota do what you have to in order to servive, even if that means leaving. So for now I'm just gonna start looking for work around here and maybe do some work for people out of my mothers garage (anyone around charlotte area who needs car work done lemme know)

Hope you got through everything alright, it's probably good that you left Jeff parish. They had no idea what to do to start rebiulding.

Sorry about that guys. back on to arguing about the vette and talking about the mushy feeling in our pants.

You can go down to a dealership and buy a Saleen I have one about an hour away from me. I can see where he says that the Z06 and the C6 are close to the same car. You guys are getting too close minded with saying that the frame is different. Its still a Corvette no matter what they put on it or do to it. I can see your argument with the warranty thing but common now you are just nit picking. The new Z06 is a nice car but I like the new E car from Saleen like Birdieman.

The point is the frame, engine and suspension are completly different, carbon fiber floors and front clip, hydro formed frame, magnisium engine cradle, and so on. You do not get these things on a regular C6. No offence to the Cobra guys but it's not the same as Ford just putting a biger motor and IRS in a Stang and calling it a Cobra. The Z06 has more in common with the C6R than it does the regular C6.
