Yes the ZO6 is but it's close, and it's faster than alot of cars that cost twice as much. It's a totaly different car than a regular Vette, it just looks the same.

I just dont get it though. Why not just forge a regular C5 or C6 and throw a turbo on it. Pocket costs would be around $10,000 at the most and you would probably walk a new Z06. Well... until that new Z06 found a turbo kit. LOL

You still won't have the stiffer chassis, bigger brakes, lighter weight. Plus when you buy the ZO6 you get a nice factory warrenty and a car that can literally be drivin anywhere. Yes turbo on a forged C5/C6 might be faster but the point of the new Z06 is to have well rounded car.

[sm=exactly.gif] the warranty for the zo6 is the kicker...if you do all that to a stock c6, you can kiss that warranty goodbye...especially by adding a turbo kit

Good points and not to be arguative but it just seems like you can do all you want to a C5 or C6 suspension and power wise and still have a better car for under the price tag of a new Z06... and obvisously if you have the money to build such a car or even buy a new Z06 then the warranty doesnt mean crap anyhoo. Know what I mean?

you still don't have the technology and frame of the z06 no matter what you put on a c5. not to mention that the whole point is you can get that from the z06 right off the showroom floor with no changes, no warrenty issues and no inspection trouble.

It's kind of like saying why by an Enzo when you can biuld a C5 that runs as fast for a lot less..... because at the end of the day it's still not an enzo

But thats like comparing apples to turds. A C6 and Z06 is basically the same car just with a few upgrades. A bigger engine with a lottle more power and this and that. I just cant believe that the price of a Vette is gonna be up there with the prices of Vipers and so on. I very seriously doubt that Ford will charge half of $75,000 for the Shelby Cobra. I be it doesnt go for more than $40,000 after taxes... and those are suppose to be a pully change and a tune away from 700 rwhp.
