sup everyone,

i've looked around these boards before and it seems as if you guys know what you're talking about when it comes to stangs. Right now i have a civic and my bro has a saturn, and over the summer we are looking at selling both our cars and buying either a gt, trans am, or maybe a z28, Something w/ some power. We don't really need 2 cars so we thought we'd have a little fun w/ one car, plus hooking it up will be a lot cheaper on the both of us. I was going to do a swap to my 5th gen civic but just because i'd have to drop atleast 7 or 8g's just to make it fast didn't apeal to me, especially being a student and all. Well, to be honest, i really don't know jack about domestic cars, besides the obvious stuff. I was wandering if you guys could tell me why you would get a mustang gt over a trans am or formula??? What is the handling like on a gt and does FORD really live up to it's reputation of falling apart, don't get me wrong, i believe that if you take care of a care then it will take care of you, but i was just wanting to know yalls input. If you guys could give me any other info i'd appreciate it. thanks

Troskie

why a mustang huh....

well, first of all i have always liked the looks of one before i new anything about one. second, they have always come stock w/better handling then the rest of the motors. third, the 302 has always been a tough motor that is not expensive to make faster or work on. now i know that the z28 and the t/a come stock w/a faster motor. but, they're heavier, they cost more, and performance parts cost three times what they cost for a mustang. this makes it easier for us to build a solid moter, a motor w/nos, or a blown motor that would smoke them any day of the week. i hope this helps with your decision. i trust that you will make the right one.

good luck!!

Plus the Mustang has its own look. Cameros and Firebirds/TA's have the same body style.

Cheap horsepower is the #1 reason to buy a Mustang!!! They look hot and theyre easy to hook up. Glad to see you and your bro are ready to graduate to a mans car...

Insurance will not know unless they inspect the car or you tell them. If they go by just the VIN it will come up as a V-6 and they will never know the difference. Hey my first car was a 67 Cougar with 289. Got my first drag racing ticket in it.
