i just hooked up a cd player in my car, and the 4inch speakers sound fine at a low volume, but if i go to turn it up very loud at all, they start making static noise like the speakers are busted or something, but they are not..??? I checked my ground, but it seemed to be grounded good.. any suggestions???

Sorry - sounds like blown speakers to me. Never hear of an interferance/static that goes away at low volume and shows up at louder settings. Speakers as small as 4" will definitely have a staticky sound to them when blown - as apposed to subs that make a "farting" sound.
Suppose it could be the head unit. Does it do the same thing on radio stations?? If so I'd assume blown speakers. If not - then something funky going on with the CD portion of the head.

well its not busted speaker cause i took the speaker out of my car and hooked it up to a cd player i have in the house and could turn it up and it sounded fine, so maybe its the head unit? i don't know???
Did those speakers work fine before with the other head unit you had in before. The first thing i would have hought when you said it's fine at low volumes but sounds bad at high volumes is that it's blown too. And your sure it's the speaker and not the door panel, or wherever it's located making a rattling noise...hmmm since you say you hooked it up elsewhere and it was fine, somehow maybe a speaker wire is touching something, or you head unit is flawed somewhere. Don't know much about head unit internals though, sorry man
