just wondering i got my mustang and of course it comes stock with 210 horsepower now i got the dealership to through in a flowmaster dual exhaust setup in with my financing just wondering if anyone knows approx. how much horsepower i may have gained from that thanks

Although it’s not shown here on a dyno graph we also tested a better cat-back exhaust system for the V-6 Mustang and found an unbelievable 10 horsepower at the rear wheels from about 4000 rpm up.
if its a little more than 10 thats better than 10 i feel a little let down by just 10 but i guess you can't expect much from just exhaust never really did much for my last car either. any other mods bang for buck do it yourself easy anyone know of preferably small box that can be mailed to office building . flowmasters is all i have wish list consists of hid's, wheels haven't decided on what i want yet, and supercharger. thanks for your info

If you only do one mod to your car make it an SCT X-Cal2.... My dealer/tuner of choice is Lidio from Alternative Auto (www.alternativeauto.com)
Yea if you added on only a catback system 10hp gain seems fairly accuarate, you would of gotten more had you bought a true flow dual exhaust system, x or h pipe with cats. Oh don't forget 210 is the hp off the flywheel, your car is actually running at about 170 rear wheel hp. Ford always releases their hp rating on the flywheel instead of giving the real hp rating which is your rear wheel hp. You loose hp due to your car weight, your pulley system, your gears in your drive train and your rear wheel differential.

At this level with only simple bolt ons there is really not much of a benefit going to duals... a good straight thru muffler like that Magnaflow is about all you need...
170!?!? i knew there was some negation cause of all that stuff but losing that much horsepower is depressing
170 is about 19% loss... which is actually would you should expect with an automatic...
Why is the automatic significantly less powerful? I figured a manual would have an edge, but 20%?
Actually, what scrming said was that the automatic loses 19%. He didn't say what the manual loses---it's not 100% efficient either. So, there is probably what--a couple percent difference between the auto and manual at most? Meaning, maybe the manual loses 17% or something....I don't knw the specifics, but I really don't think there's a 20% difference between trasmissions...
