Can't wait to get her back.. we're figuring we'll nic name her "Chance" you know.. our second Chance! The guy who has it impounded says'' Paint is great.. no rust.. no dents...interior is good .. factory ford rim's and all good rubber.. in his words a "real nice car".. anyway.. just had to brag and as soon as she's home with a coat of wax ( and of course a new ignition LOL .. we'll be posting pics... ..Take care and safe driving

I am a Newbie as of a few days ago. Just discovered this site recently. I am "older" and live in Western Canada. I have an '07 Vista Blue GT Vert. on order as of last week. Auto (not a "boy-racer" anymore and wanted the ease of the auto in town), black leather, black cloth top, UIP, body side mouldings. Stayed with the 17" standard Bullitt wheel and the Shaker 500 (the 1000 is overkill and a trunk robber IMO). Mulled about "spoiler delete" but have left it on for now (I have a few more days where I can amend the order). I recently sold my 2001 Bullitt Mustang with only 15,000 kms on her (about 9300 miles). Once I had driven the new GT several times, the old platform that the Bullitt was built on just didn't feel as good anymore. I was a kid when the 1964 1/2 Mustang came out and every kid I knew wanted one.

This is the first new Mustang I have ever ordered. It will be garaged and not winter driven. Nor does it need to be a daily driver, as we have a 2005 Toyota Highlander AWD V6 which I drive and my wife drives a 2006 Toyota Solara SLE V6 coupe. I don't recall being as excited about a new purchase for a long time, and the 6 to 8 week wait will be tedious. Likely the auto-tranny GTs will come more quickly than the manny-trannied ones.

It appears that this forum is a great source of information and ideas for the Mustang owner. I participate in another general interest auto forum and will likely not be a major poster here. I enjoy seeing the pix of all the posters cars and will try not to spend too much time on the "Thong and Cleavage"site..

This is a good site, keep up the good work, folks.

I have never been to a forum before so this is pretty cool. I am hoping to figure out how to post pics so I can show off my new wheels LOL. It is white with hood scoop cold air intake, spoiler, body kit, side louvers, black racing stripes, etc. It is my baby .

Great site for a newbie like me. I have a 2002 GT Convertible with 40,000 miles. Only modifications I have made so far is a Fram Air Hog filter and a magnaflow cat back exhaust system. I was going for a shaker hood setup till I read the posts in your forum and found it was a poor investment. Thanks for the great advice.

chuck.

New to the forum and to a 06 lime green pony pack, 500 shaker, black leather, side bags, auto. Have to say, from what I've seen and read so far, lots of great info, pics, tips and tricks to be read, tried, and applied to mine.

After a week of driving it, they have come a long way from my first Mustang, this one will be my 5th. Retired or lost from the "corral" in the past have included a '65 FB, a '67 coupe (my first), a '68 GT500KR (someone liked it more than I did ), a '71 Boss. I would love to have any of them back again, but this new pony is proving to be alot of fun and brings back alot of memories.

Thanks again for the welcome.

Thanks for the welcome. I have a 65 Coupe 289 auto trans. The car has been a project for the last 15 years. In that time it has spent more time off the road than on. Just here looking to chat with some people about stangs and maybe get some advice here and ther. I have extensive auto body and paint experience, so if any has any questions or are looking for advice, feel free to ask. The only unanswered questions, are the ones not asked.

Hello all!

Thank you for having me. I'd like to tell you a little story of why I am joining this forum. So me and my buddy have this long standing argument, which until now, has just been a bunch of talk. The other night some of us are drinking some beer and the argument is brought up in front of too many blue bleeding ford lovers and has now turned into bet.
I'm not joking this is actually the bet. The 5.0 ltr showdown. Ford 302 v.s. Chevy 305. I know, I know I can't believe anyone would take that bet either but, here I am. I am novice shade tree mechanic with little experience in v8 performance apllications. My friend is an experienced Camaro lovin communist with a couple of built chevy small blocks to his name. However where I come from this type of blasphemy cannot be tolerated. This is why I need the all of your help. I have until spring to create a 1/4 mile crushing 5.0 ho foxbody to compete against a 3rd gen Camaro sporting a 305, and the budget? $1,500 total. Car, motor, tires, gas, the works.
Sounds easy enough right? Well the problem is I know my buddy, and I already predict he is going to play hard. He has the tools and the know how to do his own machine work and the experience of knowing what works. The rules are not completely set yet so now is when I need the most guidance. So far the the rules say
1. all parts must be of stock origin "except where noted". For a part to be used it must come off of the according block. No 327 cams with 400 crank and so on and so on. As gm guys love to do.
2. we must both do our own motor assembly solo. No problem there.
3. safety is not budgeted. Brakes, seat belts, and other safety items will not be counted into the budget. Those are considered freebies.
4. both cars must be on 10" street tires. no slicks "not my idea"
5. suspension must stay true to the body style. my suspension must come off a fox body his must come of an f body.
6. both cars must be as close to street legal as possible. My friend wants to see license plates. I think he is on something.
7. If nos is to be used, we must both use the same size shot.
8. both cars must have full body and glass, hoods and all.
9. of course both cars must be strip legal.
That's it so far but there will be more for sure. We are currently negotiating aftermarket parts so any reccomendations are appreciated. As of so far i am planning to pick up an 87 with the 302. I will probably be using 3:73 gears in an 8.8 rear end, transmission is still up in the air. I could really use help with things like what swaps are best for what, machine work specs, stock engine modifications, site refferences, and anything that can help. Boys and girls, I can't lose this race and still be seen in public ever again. For those of you that bleed blue, you understand.
Thank you for your time and thought and I look forward to lot's of feedback!

I have been reading this site for awhile and decided to join it tonight. I have a 2005 white mustang, V-6, dual exhaust. black rocker-panel stripes and black lemans stripes from front to back, and tinted windows. My first car I owned was a '65 white mustang, black racing stripes, mag wheels, and jacked up in the back. Just to let anyone know if they are interested, I am a 48 year old married woman with 3 sons and a grandson (and 2 chihuahuas). I teach 5th grade. I love my car!

I have an '06 GT. Anyone here put on the silver speaker covers? I'm thinking of doing it, but I'm afraid of doing something too permanent. Anyone have any experience with chromed, or silvered out replacement speaker covers? I'm really new to this whole tricking out thing. New to Mustangs, actually. And I'm OBSESSED.

Thanks,
Danielle
