Thanks for the welcome. Man I have had a bunch of cars! Porsches, Nissans, Chryslers, etc. I have to say though that my '06 Tungsten Grey GT has given me the most 'new owner' thrill.

Since we are obviously encouraged to write till we are blue in the fingers, here is my story: Since I could drive, I have been searching for my 'perfect', end-all car of cars. Since I am not rich, the exotics were out. So, being a fan of Fords and Nissans I narrowed it down to either a GT convertible or a Z convertible. I know; not really apples to apples, but it was what I chose as I had driven both and both left me grinning from ear-to-ear (wife said it was creepy). So now it was up to the dealers to do their best. Here's what I got:

Nissan: "All I have is a '06 touring addition ($37,000-) and I can get it to you for $32,00-, or if you like you can leave us a deposit, tell us what you want and we will find it and call you."
Me: "I don't want to spend that much. I won't buy a car sight unseen. See ya."

--

Ford: "Gee our Mustangs are selling so well we don't really have to mark them down." (note: all automatics on the lot.)
Me: "Gee, then why are you laying off all those people if you are selling so many cars? I guess I could go to San Diego and get one there but I want to buy locally. . .and I bought my F-150 5.4 here last year and got such a great deal. Ok. Thanks anyway."
Ford: "Well let me check with my manager."
Time passes
Ford: "How does $100 over invoice sound?"
Me: "OK, but I really am looking for a 5 speed"
Ford: "Really? Uh, I think we may have one but the color is a love-it or hate-it thing."

ANYWAY. . .Long story short. . .Played like I really wanted a white or yellow 5-speed, got a good trade-in and did the deal on the 'new' color for '06.

I LOVE this car! The accelleration, the torque, the sounds!

Needless to say I will be visiting here on a regular basis as I believe I have found my 'final' car and will want to learn as much from all of the other 'Stang owners.

Pictures to follow once all the !@#$%^& rain stops here in SoCal.

Hello All. Gald to have found these forums. Very cool. I have been messing with Fords for a while now. I've had an '89 T-Bird 232ci V6, a '92 Cougar 302ci HO V8, '96 281ci V8, an '03 281ci V8 Grand Marquis, and now: a 2001 GT Mustang. It's good times. Already have some mods: K&N FIPK kit, TransGo shift Kit (yeah its an auto), 2 (NOT 4) hi-flo cat-cons, bassani x-pipe, two series 40 flowmasters. More to come later. I'm glad to be here and hope to get some good info too!

Hello, just joined today. I hope to get edjamacated on my mustang.
Bought a greenish blue 1995 V6 a few months ago. Hoping to fix it
up a little. Previous owner started the project, now I get to
finish. Hopfully, someone knows some of those "helpful heloise hints"
that we all love so much. (Like how to get the super-glue off my fingers and my fingers
unstuck from the car, after I had to glue an interior part back that I broke)

Well, I would just like to say HEY Y'ALL! I am originally from Mississippi but am currently living in Alabama because of work. I just got my dream car which is a 1995 Ford Mustang... I know most people think I am crazy for saying that a Mustang is a dream car, most people want Lambourgini's and Ferrari's or Ford GT's or maybe something else that would cost an arm and a leg. I remember the first tiime I ever rode in a mustang was about 1996 and it was a 1996 blue ford mustang gt convertible... I fell in love with the way the car rode, the look, everything! I have always wanted a Mustang, preferably a 1994-95 model. My husband is also the MAN OF MY DREAMS! He spoils me so bad with everything I want. He bought me this 1995 Mustang for Christmas this year. Granted, it's not blue, needs some body work and a new exhaust, new tires, etc. I was more than happy to get behind the wheel of this sexy car and put the pedal to the medal. I have found that I have a lead foot with this particular car and I think it is because it rides so smooth that you can't tell your going 95-100 mph.... Luckily, I havent got ticket, KNOCK ON WOOD... I do notice a big difference in the way I drive though..
We have BIG plans for this car. My husband and I have talked about putting new tires, catback exhaust, cold air intake, new drivers door, black bullitt rims, black racing stripe that starts solid on the hood, goes up the roof, splits and comes down the sides and ends in flames... I am hoping by the time 2007 rolls around, I will have what looks like a brand new 1995 For Mustang! Well, this is my story, thanks for taking the time to read it, and I will be sticking around when I get a chance to put in my 2 cents or ask a lot of questions on this site! Thanks,
peace, amanda

Hello and thanks for the Welcome!
I'm living in the UK but spent most of my time around the tracks along the East Coast..I'm originally from NY, Long Island. I am registered with a few Mustang Forums and this one seems overwhelming right now, right now I'm just trying to figure it out!!.....lots of threads and information.
I have a 93 5.0lx convertible, 355 gears, a Vortch Supercharger and some other minor mods. Unfortunately here in the UK it rains a lot so she is garaged and only driven when the sun is shining (and the roads dry!!)....needless to say my car doesn't get much time on the road!!
Well, I should start surfing and gathering information from all the experts on these panals!! I'm glad to be here...read about the site in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords (which, by the way, my picture can be found in the December issue!!! My one and only 15 minutes of fame!!) Caio!!

Whoa, looks like I missed this thread last week when I signed up.

Well, a little about me. Got my '66 Coupe 2 weeks ago now and am having to fight myself off from taking it out and driving it all the time. She is mostly original except for paint and exhaust.

I also like to take long moonlit walks on the beach..... oh sorry, is that too much info?
