Default trading in 05 Gt

Just ordered a 06 GT 5-speed premium on Sept. 17th. will arrive in about 5 weeks. Has anyone driven a auto and 5-speed 05-06 GT, if so is there any difference in acceleration. I have'nt read any magazine reviews, just what I've read on this website. Planning on some mods on my new car, from what I gather a 5-speed will handle mods better than a auto.

My 05 GT auto has handled the mods just fine. Good luck with your 06.

a stock auto will definetly be a little slower then a stock manual, you lose HP because of the torque converter. autos also weigh more. as to how much you lose, i have no idea. i would guess maybe a tenth or two in the 0-60. btw, how much did you get for your trade in on the 05?

I owe $22,750 on the car, I am getting $24,500 trade in value. Buying new car from BURD Ford in Indianapolis, IN. with X-plan. My current car has 5,800 miles, excellent condition.

The acceleration for the 06 may be a little quicker becuase the 06's have 3:55's, and I think the 05's have 3:31's or somethin weird like that.

My 2002(6speed) LS1 made 385RWHP/371RWTQ without heads. My buddies made 370's with heads(auto). They say about 20%loss with auto and 15% with a stick.

No, the gear ratio is the same for the 05 and 06. The auto comes stock with 3.31 and manual with 3.55 for both years.

not this again, the autos are actually faster, but the stick is still more fun to drive, some magazine, automobile maybe, had an 05 GT 5 speed in 0-60 at 5.1 seconds, the auto, 4.8 seconds im no math genius, but isnt 4.8 less than 5.1?
