Ok my friend is getting a 1990 Iroc Z 5.7 soon, just wondering if he'd beat me and by how much?
both are autos

I'm not really sure about the ETs for each car, but I believe the 5.7L L98 motor was rated at 225 or 235 hp and 335 ft lbs of torque, or something along those lines. Hope this helps.

I believe those cars are a high 14 or low 15, not sure of the exact time, probably be a good race.

245hp 330tq.

From a light he will most likely leave ya like a bad habit, but keep your foot in it, around 4500 rpms the HP in a TPI motor falls flat on it's face...

I had a worked heads/cam/bored 305TPI and would constantly put 2-3 cars on much quicker cars from a light.

those cars SUCK!, ive never had one come close to beating me, i dont know what they're rated at but i think they're slow

those years are slow i mean slow the 5.7 is pushing like 175hp so it shouldnt even be a race

Most 3rdgens that Fox bodies walk all over are TBI 5.0's in RS's and in some Iroc & Z28's.

All the magazines I've seen, put the Fox 5.0 about .2 infront of a 305TPI Iroc-z with the G-92 rear, now only if they lined it up against the TPI 350....

Yeah, but he said it was the 350. And his isn't a 5.0. He's going up against a 96 4.6 auto. A very likely high 15 second car.

If he had a 93 5.0. My money would be on the 5.0.

I have rode in two of the 350 Irocs. They are slow. There not even an LT1.

LT1 is a low 14 second car. A 305 TPI is the one rated at 175 HP. The 350 should be good for mid 15s since it is an auto low 15s from a manual. You guys should be close.

i had an 83 camaro with a carbed 350 in it, and it couldnt get out of its own way..

and much like MANY of the posts in this thread, mine in no way has any useful information pertaining to this original topic.

His comment was not directed at you, it was at the 97Vette guy, and yes I saw what you originally wrote.
TPI Vettes were mid 14-low 15 depending on the year and what trans they had.

305TPI 5sp rated at 220HP. I don't know where you got those numbers.

No manuals came in 350TPI Iroc-z's. Any 350TPI with the G92 rear you can expect to run anywhere from 14.5-14.9 in top form.

170HP 305TBI RS or the 305TBI motor is 170 hp, no TPI motor was ever 175hp.
