My 94 Cobra has MUSTANG on the rear bumper. I know for a fact this car is a cobra. It has cobra on the intake, steering wheel, side emblems, floor mates, and came with a certifacte from SVT. So your buddy was mistaken.
I understand your point. I would keep it just the way it is but the idiot owner before me backed into something, scratching the corner of the bumper and popped a bracket out under the tailight. Now there is a flex in the bumper right below the license plate. Also if people know cobras they will still know mine is a 94, due to the wing, decklid, side skirts and tailights.

err wrong....hes totally wrong....the 94-95 models prior to 96 were all based on the gt body style...therefore the cobra models did not have the exciting hood scooped hood nor did they have the snake in the front, nor the cobra embossed bumper in the back...in 96 ford modified the cobra body style to make it more distinguishable from the gt and the v6 so they added an attractive hood and the cobra embossed bumper in the back and in some models the snake within grill...and for those of you that think the 94-98 cobras are missing a grill, nope...the floating snake was a design feature...and for the final FYI most parts from 94-98 are interchangeable...therefore you can customize your snake to whatever you feel like, lots of luv from new mexico, jenna
No one said there had to be a snake in the grill for it to be a real cobra. I am sure, that none of the cobras produced had a snake in the grill. Every mustang comes with the "floating pony" up front in the grill.
Also we have already distinguished the fact that 94/95's dont have the hood nor do they have the "COBRA" embossed bumper, just wondering why this thread hasnt died yet. I am not trying to be an ass just a realist

CobraHoe is right again all Cobra's come factory equiped with the running horse and the cobra is just an aftermarket peice, also when the body was changed in 99 the 99 Cobra came with a mustang embossed bumper along with the 00 Cobra R however when the 01 Cobra arrived it had the cobra embossed bumper and is also back on the 03. Chances are the 05 will have a mustang embossed rear bumper unless it happens to be embossless.

I concur with the many others that my 95 cobra only says mustang on the rear bumper. it's also true that the 95's have an "svt" badge on the rear as the 94's do not.

As long as I know none cobra have a snake in the grill because a few days ago I went to a FORD dealer to buy the grill snake to my cobra, but the vendor check in all of the year and the only emblem that apear was the pony.
