Default Odd noise

heard an odd noise when shuttin my 4cyl 91 lx off tonight, dont know if its just because its cold out or what?

because it has been very cold lately and supposed to get worse til saturday 10º high with -20º windchill (think 50mph winds too) well it kinda sounded like something was winding down(spinning like) and then like a thud

so i turn it back on for a min or so and shut it off no noise... also it almost didnt start from the first turn the past couple mornings but im sure thats just from the cold

so big deal out of nothing? (dont really wanna lose my winter beater)

It wasnt "DEISELING" was it?Maybe it was the engine just rocking back and forth after being shut off.Or maybe you have something loose or worn like a motor mount. No possible way to know other than checking.Do a complete inspection of it and then let us know. While youre under remove the inspection plate on the tranny and make sure all is well and move down the line and do a complete and detailed inspection. It could also have been the exhaust pipe as well.

As far as it trying to start from the cold check your battery and all the connections.I would pull the cables off inspect them and then clean them up before installing them back.Check your starter as well to make sure the terminal isnt corroded.
