unless you got some major mods(excellent breathing) dont worry about them....you would do well to pick up some shorty headers....<edited><editID>bmorrisj</editID><editDate>37994.5651273148</editDate></edited>

Don't even think about shorty headers, they suck. You'll get much better results from long-tubes. I don't care if the engine is bone stock. Shorties are a waste of time and money. Some brands you can check out are Hooker, MAC, BBK, Dynomax, etc.</P>

i agree, they are a great addition...but can he do without until they are in need? like after new heads/cam....

Headers will free up horsepower on any engine, because stock exhaust manifolds are extremely restrictive, as exhaust gases are forced to compete to exit the engine. I know on a stock 4.6 engine, BBK long tubes will free up in the neighborhood of 15-20 HP to the wheels, not to mention the increase in torque and throttle response.

Shorties suck in my opinion. I got a set and I feel like i wasted my money. KNow i'm lookin to get a set of long tubes.
