Default My 2006 Lowered - Now with less gap & more filling

I installed a set of Steeda Sport Springs. They don't show up for 2006, but I cross-refferenced them using Ford Racing Parts which shows a similar kit for '05 & '06 using the same part number - So I figured I was safe to use the '05 kit from Steeda.

The install was very easy. I did the front's in about 30 minutes and the rear in about 10 minutes. Total time, including bench racing with my buddy, was about 2 hours.

Before

After

I am VERY happy with the result - Not too much, but not too little. The car sits level and looks good (although dirty right now )

For more detailed pictures of the install, you can visit my Web Site

(I posted his at Corral as well, but thought I'd put a thread here - can't decide which place I like better )

wow I really like how those things look! How easy would it be to install with just a jack? I don't have much expirience with this stuff but would love to buy these for my car.

زoe,
I did it with a floor jack and 2 jack stands. Nothing exotic (unless you count the air tools and spring compressor )

Although I own a set of spring compressors, I think a place like AutoZone will loan a set for the day. My biggest tips would be:
1) Get an extra set of hands to help - They don't have to be real strong hands either - Wife/GF/etc

2) When doing the rear there is a 10mm bolt holding the brake lines to the car inside the wheel well. The instructions don't mention it, but I unbolted this so that the brake lines would bind when dropping the rear end to put the springs in.

3) Stay the !!!heck!!! away from the springs when they are loaded - These can KILL YOU if mishandled. If you've never done front struts, then make sure you READ THE DIRECTIONS. If you have any questions you can email or PM me.

Hope this helps.

First, that looks great! Nice job man. Second, and sorry if this seems like a silly question, did you just do the front springs? Does a mod like this require an alignment to be performed?

tsteffes,
I did both the front & rear.

As for alignment - I typically run more camber in the front then most, and lowering it adds camber as a side effect. I plan on putting it on an alignment rack to see where it ended up.

Thanks. I think the look is very impressive.
