Default went to the track with my stang

i ran at the track today in my stang.... 1/8 mile track.... first run was a 10.1... i kicked the car sideways on my 2nd shift and had to let off the gas.

my best run was a 9.4 @77.3 mph with a 2.2 60ft time... these times suck. how can i improve them? i think some slicks or DR's could help cause i had to granny shift so i wouldnt kick the rear end of the car out on my 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift. what can i make the car run better? these times are depressing to me. but the good news is that i pwned a 3000gt on naws all of my runs.
