No chip. And if I could have got one for $200 I would have bought a dozen and resold them at what they really cost. If you install a complete CAI then you will have to reflash your computer to not run too lean due to the extra air. There is no "chip" that does this nowdays. You have to by a handheld tuner. Most companies will provide you with a custom tune that fits your aplication. I highly recomend Brenspeed for this. Brent is very good and gets info needed to provide very good results. X-pect to pay near $700 for a complete CAI and tuner with a custom tune. BUT...you will have a different car when done. I have a peak gain of 28hp at around 4600 RPM and am at a 21hp gain at 6100 rpm. You can get a cheaper set up if desired but we all know you will never be satisfied knowing there is more available out there.

The Ghost is right on target. I have the C&L with Predator tune like most of us, and I can say that the car is much livelier at all speeds. He's right about the price too. Easy to install, but going fast has always been expensive. I hear the K&N setup is cheaper, but dont know if it works as well as the C&L. Also, dont forget that to get the most out of this setup, you will have to run Premium gas. And I recommend the Predator because you can get tunes over the net for it. Makes updates easier.

you might want to check out Steeda.com. Their ad says that their Cold Air Kit requires a re-flash. $299 is the listed price.

I have the JLT CAI with the reflash. The kit also came in my car color. I found the seat-o-the-pants feel to be tremendous.

Something I'm not getting here. The JLT CAI is what 150 dollars and the tuner is 200 dollars but the kit is 600? What am I totalling wrong here. Has your plastic melted by any chance. I've heard of this in earlier cases. How being that you have about the same set up but it is claimed to give you additional horsepower over names as C/L or Steeda?

I haven't bought my kit yet being that I am more than likely the poorest 2005 Mustang GT owner here however it will be bought soon I hope. Breenspeed is who I will be doing business with.

I'm reasonably content with my K&N performance and no tune required. I did add a Jet chip, tho...
