I think it is a pretty bad call on dodges part seeings how that was the ricer car that they had. With that they were kinda providing to all the car enthusiasts ( dont get me wrong I hate NEONS MORE THAN ANYTHING ) but other than that all they have is the Charger and the super bee ram. I think that they should have kept it. They seemed to be very present at least in my community.

i dont think ricers r gone 4 good. i heard they r coming out w/ a new car that is supose to replace the neon. i think it will be awd

Just like Chevy did with the Cobalt replacing the Cavalier, the Neon is being replaced by the Caliber.
As far as Torch's first line in his post... 4 cyl performance/import enthusiast and ricer aren't interchangable.

All Dodge has is the Charger and SuperBee Ram? Are you referring to what they have performance wise?
Neon SRT-4/Caliber SRT-4

I've stated it before, the SRT-4 is being replaced by the Dodge Caliber SRT-4 which is AWD. It will be a capable of putting 60% of it's power to the rear wheels. It doesn't look as good, but it will probably perform better. No specs on the 2.4L Turbocharged engine yet, but I can bet it will be a little bit more powerful.

And not every one who has an SRT-4 is a ricer. If that was true, then I could say every one who owned a Mustang was a white boy who lived in a trailer. (not that they are, just an example)

the claiber is an ugly piece of crap...great...ANOTHER wagon and sedan combo...i dont give a damn if its faster than the SRT4...dodge is intentionally trying to remove itself from the performance market...
the charger ISNT a performance car..its a god damned family sedan.

Pat, don't forget that the Caliber SRT-4's competitors are 4-door. I think the SRT-4 will be much more of a competitor now that's it's AWD and specifics specs are not known for the improved 2.4L turbo.

You think the new SRT-4 will be in the same class as the STi and Evo? I think it will be with the new WRX, now thats its got a 2.5 liter, 18 more ft lbs of torque, massive 3 more hp, and an ugly front end

I don't really consider most of those cars on that list as has high performance cars. I actually liked the SRT-4 Neon (cheap speed) but that Caliber needs to be catapulted into a volcano. Dodge has definetly won the title of manufacuter with the ugliest cars,Magnum, Charger, Cherokke, Caliber need I go on? They have the engine part down but they usually mess up the rest of the car. Just my .02
