Default 1982 Mustang GL (stock)

Hey I got a 1982 Mustang GL but it keeps breaking down somthing electrical is wrong with it I replaced the solenoid ignition wires and battery. It started up for the first 4 or 5 times but now it wont kick over. I charged the batterty overnight put it back in an nothing just rattles. The engine is a 2.3L 4 banger COMPLET. Stock i am going to pickup completely new pipes with either a Dynomax or Thrush muffler and take out the catyletic convertor, hoping to put a 5L engine in or a 351 Windsor. hey it might not look to nice now but im only 15 an its my baby i love it.
Pictures of my car are here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/821730
If anyone knows about Performance or parts tips let me know plz i am looking for a whole new interior and i want a hood cowl or scoop prefer fibreglass. i cannot find any to fit my year mustang any help is greatly appreciated this car stock on the website says 88Hp so anything to make it faster i would like i wanna drag race it after a year or 2 experience driving.
