Default 1/4 Times? And Modification Help

Oh. My GOD. Ok. I like to drive a little fast every once and a while. But when I met up with David_K and we went to SAR in Seguin, Texas. He kept on telling me that I was going to run. I wanted to but scared that I was going to suck @SS. After that night, I want more power. And plus I need to get better at running. I wasn't that bad but for a beginner on racing and driving a standard. Anyway on to the questions. What is a usual 1/4 time for a 99 Saleen S/C? I don't mean a modified one, just one right out of the factory. I have to see how I compare. I'm also looking on what kind of mods I can do to my car especially tires. I was told that the Mickey Thompson tires I want might be too sticky and could decide to mess up my rear end. Just let me know times, mods you have done, and what kind of tires are best. And no I won't bite off of you guys, I just want some help from fellow Saleens. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Stock 99 S281sc's can run the 1/4 in the mid 12's with a good driver. With an average driver, low 13's are typical. If you want to exclusively drag race your car, then you are already kinda behind the 8 ball. The Saleen suspension and low profile tire make it trickier to launch, and it requires some practice. 60' times under 2 seconds on stock tires are possible, but aren't that easy to pull off. A correct burnout is a must, along with proper slippage of the clutch. What were your 60' times and et's?

Yea. I hated that I had horrible take offs, but it was pretty fun sucking the car up like that. Especially that one time I was sitting there just freakin spinning. THat was funny. I love superchargers. I can't wait until I get a better one. I want to average my top speed over 100. And of course take down that damn 1/4 time. The goal for right now is to improve 1 sec. That's all I want...... For now...
