I was just wondering if anyone has done any drag racing with their Saleen. If so, what kind of time did you get with it? I am just curious to see what mine should run when I get it. Thanks a lot.

Just ran 14.1 @ 99.8mph in a basically stock 1987 Saleen... nothing to brag about. I'm sure it doesn't keep up with the S/C's... Just thought I'd answer your post... later

93 Saleen... yeah, I guess we are pretty few and far in between. I know of 2 other Saleens where I live here in wichita.. I think there is more than that though. I know of a White w/ black striped 89 Saleen and then a black 89 or so Saleen... I've heard of some others, but there are a lot of posers I'm sure. I've only had mine since July 28th. I can't find hardly any good websites other than Saleen's to look up stuff. Most of the ones I see are bad links or don't exist any more. I might develop my own site soon. Let me know if you know of any more. Take it easy and email anytime... jerwenmad@cox.net THanks, Jeremy Send me some pics if you'd like.. I'll send you some if you want them.

The dude i bought my saleen from is involved with the saleen owners and entuisiats club you can go to his site at www.performanceautosport.com . Hes got some super nice cars and is about the smartest person i know of when it comes to saleens other than steve. Hes also involved with another site that is kinda like an unofficial saleen directory. On there youll find a few pics of my car before i bought it, as well as some more saleens that have come through his showroom over the years. Ill try to find the address and email it to you and maybe you can locate some more owners near you. Thanks, justin.

Yes, I've been to the site a time or two.. some pretty good stuff there, some hard to find things. I just wish I new more about the production numbers and history and stuff.. I think a registry that worked would be a good tool to share info about each existing car and stuff... I would like to know how many white with blue striped cars were made in '87 and so on...

yeah in 1987 there were 280 saleens produced: 246 hatchbacks, 33 convertables, and only one coupe(these are scarce in any year of the fox body saleens). As for how many made in your color id need a registry for that. Mark at performance autosport has one and Im going up there to talk to him next weekend anyways so ill browse the registry and write down all the info and email it to you. Ill try and get some web adresses together also that contain some pretty good info and send those to you as well. You should also visit mark if your ever in Va. hell answer any question you could have about saleens. Just make sure you call to make sure hes there cause he has a busy schedule and can sometimes be gone during the day. Later man!

Thanks for the reply... yes, I'd like all of the information that I can get... also, my car was part of an engineering project from Kenny Brown with Project Industries in 1990. It was number M90-004E which was the 4th of 34 (I think) cars experimented with that year. I've read that he had a lot to do with the suspension and stuff on '87 Saleens... pretty cool stuff.. I have some documents from that like parts list and such. I have to go to work now so I can't list it right now. Maybe later. Thanks for your help and will speak to ya soon!

But when they (saleen) filed Bankrupcy in late late '89, Kenny decided he'd give it a shoot of building mustangs. For Saleen, thank goodness Tim Allen stepped in with his own money, otherwise there probably wouldn't be a Saleen team around today.

...ok, here are some times i ran in a stock o1 S281 (n\a). It ran 14.7's @ 98 mph. The track is at altitude (almost 5000'), and the surface was slick. The best 60'times i could get were 2.18's. I felt like the p zeros were really holding me back. I only made 2 runs because it was so busy. If i had a few more runs, i thought i could do much better. A year later, equiped with a procharger (9 -10psi) and dynotuned, the car ran a 12.78 @ 111. I did switch to bridgestone s02's, which helped A LOT. 60' best was 1.97, trying not to fry the clutch too much. I just bought a used (500mi) S281E, and will report back with et's before and after boost is added. Just need to wait out the breakin period. By the way, im impressed with this car so far

I just bought an 01 S281 SC, it is very fast. But I'm not sure what the 1/4 time is on it. I have got a few upgrades done to it. The 3:73 gears pull hard as hell in the first three gears. But the PZero Pilots are way to slick and don't hold traction very well. Doesn't matter how many horses you got, if you can't hold the road, then your screwed.
