Default ? about Cat back

Does the term "Cat back" exhaust just mean dual exhaust or does it stand for the upward bend in the pipe that looks like a cats back when its scared?....lol thats a total guess.

cat back means that it is part of the exhaust system from the catalytic converter back....cat is short catalytic converter....i kno i hate spellin that word and sayin everytime so i just say cats anyways...
