if a 210hp acura has beaten 3 GTs, with manual transmissions, i would like to introduce you to three mustang drivers who need driving lessons...or three 6 cylinder mustangs with GT badges.

unless he has some sort of miracle chip and miracle intake, it has to be driver error on the part of the mustang owner...the new Type-S is only rated to 14.9-15 flat, which is impressive, but it takes an awfully bad running mustang or a bad mustang driver to loose a standing quarter mile...

and racing from a roll is like trying to screw with pants on...you get the general idea, but something just doesnt seem right.

When I made the original comment, I purposly said fwd cars. I wasn't talking about Evo's, Sti's, etc...

quote:

My whole reasoning for wanting to do bolt ons and Supercharge my Civic is proven so elequently within the confines of your post, Birdieman.

You have 3? Saleens, so in essence YOU think that you own the road. Now I know that is a little bit presumptuous on my part, but it's the only logical answer I can come up with as to why you would post this topic. Every car nut wants to build a car, but not everybody wants to start out with a gas guzzling V8.

When I was writing this post, I almost made a closing comment about the 'essay' we would hear from you on this. I think you took a lot of this personally, as judging buy your comments. You missed my point. This has nothing to do with me or owning the road. This has nothing to do with the fact that there are some quick 4 cly, fwd cars. And, has nothing to do with you or your car. It has to do with racing cars that are respectable opponents with regard to the car you are driving. Yeah, there are some modded, fast 4 bangers that can whoop up on modded stangs, but those are few and far between. Most aren't that fast, and often it is clearly evident before the 'race' begins. In a way I am actually defending fwd cars, saying why stomp on them when you know it's going to be a slaughter; let the slow cars be. Boy, you sure took all this stuff personally. Good thing I respect your opinion, otherwise my post would have been considerably different.

well, honestly, i think that the "V8 guys" will race anything that they come across to show off how big their auto-phallis is...if you follow my drift...i have been sitting at a light in my DD that is no scremer, and had some middle eastern douchebag roll up next to me in a Z06, and yelling something about being a ricer....i yelling something back about him not being american...he just flipped me off..but anyway...i could see this guy wanting to screw with me if i was sitting revving my engine at him, but i wasnt...i had my windows up, and my AC on, and i wasnt paying attention until he honked and motioned for me to roll the window down, and as i did, he began revving his engine as he talked trash...i didnt lose any sleep over it...

guys that will race anything, and target 4 cylinder cars are probably suffering from a bad case of small-man syndrome...and they know that if they ride around hassling other guys trying to show off how big their stuff isnt, theyll lose..so they target cars that they know are an easy win, then they go online and brag about how their blown, bottled mustang (no one specific) just "wasted a ricer"..

a 16 or 17 second ricer...

nice work, seriously...

PS: when I saw the race I couldnt believe what I saw. I thought he had this in the bag. For a car with half the displacement and cylinders.

its the fastest car made in the US for under 20k...thats why it sells..i have driven a couple..with satge 0, and 1...they are fast for what they are...but what it comes down to, youre paying (for stage 1) 21g for a neon with an engine swap...same crappy interior...same 'feel'...if im paying 22 grand for a NEON it had better have power windows and leather.

its not a charger...it should be called the "magnum sedan"...i dont give a damn how much power they put into the 50 grand SRT8 model...

I have driven an SRT-8 300C, and it was awesome, but that is a mid 13 second luxury car...the charger is a mid range family sedan, and is incredibly boring...i have seen a bunch of them, and i have yet to see one driven by a guy.

38-40 grand Pat, the prices have been released

That pretty much sums it up right there...

530 hp at the wheel for an SRT-4 is quite an accomplishment. Pics, slips?

For the Viper... I'm guessing the Hennessy Venom 1000TT?

that was coming from the same guy who explained "how easy it was to launch a FWD turbo car"...530 at the wheels would make it the fastest in the country...seeing as how MChat is running 11.70s with 435 at the crank..?

and as for the 38-40 grand price...you dont think that there will be dealer markup?

You know, I don't really know for sure, but I hear that there are 4 banger street cars running low 11's all motor.

http://www.cal-look.com/top20/top20main_2004.shtml

I believe my car would outrun 90% of the street driven cars here, and I wouldn't be too emabarassed by any street driven V-8 unless they are running some sort of power adder. If you would like to come to Georgia, I will prove it. I'll be at SDR 9-30-05 and again for the import show down.

A friend has a SRT-4 that runs 12.74 at 117mph. While it's not stock, he certainly doesn't have 8k in it either.

SRT-4 is a good bang for the buck, but the car is hard to drive off the line, that's why you see so many 14 sec SRT-4s.

I don't post my V-8 kills here, because I realize that it's a Mustang board, but if I did there would be many.
