The SRT-4's aren't crap first of all. It's mainly the drivers. Those "crap" SRT-4's will take the new stock GT's, but not if they have a young crappy driver. But you are right, I hate the guys bragging about beating 4 cylinders too. It's kinda funny that they have to brag about beating 4 cylinders with their big V8's. It just makes me laugh.
I find it hilarious that the new GT's rival is the SRT-4...... ha ha 
so let me get this straight. if we even beat like, say an evo, that's funny? that's nothing to brag about for a 99-04GT? cause, well, it is just a 4cyl.

Si, i grew up not so much in an affluent area, but the town in which i worked, which was some 15 minutes away from me, was PACKED full of kids in pricey cars. since my dad is an old race mechanic, i was fortunate enough to have a car that would contend, running mid 13s in high school...back then, when little tommy or katie got a C- or better in 10th grade english, they would have a pretty new mustang in the driveway...they would "mod it" meaning custom tags, subs, rims, and tint. I have since moved to an fairly wealthy section of the northern detroit metro area. the area bordering ours is where many of the detroit pro athleres live and, go figure, their kids are all rolling sick cars...anyway, back to my area in PA. when working as a tech right after college, we had a female customer who had a fairly built GSR. header, intake, exhaust, no cat...typical stuff that any shop can do..no swap or antyhing. for her graduation, daddy bought her an S2000. she wrecked it, several times, and she complained that it was because "she didnt like how the vtec made the car accelerate"...so daddy traded it in..
on a new viper...for her.
her next door neighbor was 17, and drove an espirit....the "poor kids" in that area drive things like boosted civics, and SRT4s...the silent majority, now reserved as the "neighborhood white trash" are the ones who drive V8 american cars. so yes, it was an affluent area, but online, most of the SRT4 owners that i see are like the ones who i mentioned, who go from moms stock 98 accord to an SRT4, and become brian o'connor...my small cube "import" has no great work done to make it faster...i have painted calipers, tinted windows, and an exhaust system, and i dont care if people call it "ricey"...so goes life, but at the same time, i dont go around talking about how i "hate ricers" when i am contrbuting to the 'problem'. many SRT4 owners make fun of civic or celica owners because they have body kits, CF hoods, eurotails, etc...but they have the SAME stuff done, and because their car SHOULD run 13s...and the civic shouldnt, somehow it gives them the right to call other 4 cylinder cars with the same mods "ricers"...
Anyway...mustang owners brag about beating up on SRT4s because many SRT4 owners bring it upon themselves...a stock SRT4, or at least a stage 1 srt4 should at least be competitive with a stock04 and older GT, provided a good driver, so i can see the point of a GT owner being proud to have beaten one...on the other hand, cobra owners who brag about beating up on NA neons with four exhaust tips, and an auto tranny, are bragging about beating a 17 second car...that, i dont understand...but to each their own...everyone has to have someone to beat, right?

exactly. now adays it seems like the way to go is small engine small car and a sh!t load of boost. if a 4 banger is running 25 PSI thats nothing to blow off. i would race an import w/ that set up and i would brag about beating say a modded SRT -4. its always nice to show little ricers that there is no replacement for displacement, and also a 10 PSI blower LOL

I think in most cases the reason people w/ Mustangs talk **** about beating a 4 cylinder is because the kid in the 4 cylinder was talking ****. The same thing goes when a honda guy talks **** about beating a GT. In most cases the GT was talking about how ricey hondas are.

I usually never even try to mess with a four banger unless I am provoked over and over, or if im having a bad day. Then I will detach their rectums just because I can.

What does that have to do with anything? He works for the company that owns Mustang Forums. Along with about 30 other forums. He admins on all of them.

also 99, i am a general car enthusiast, which is why i can be impartial when 2000Si, JDan, and 98LS1 get in an arguement...(just an example)...i just happen to own dodges right now. its not like im here bashing you guys...
but like sidewayz said, i am an employee of the company that owns MF...I am simply here to help out, run ROTM, and try to keep things in line. i have no particular interest in any model of mustangs, so people cant say "he owns a fox body so he always sides with them" so on, when there is a dispute.

well, yes and no..it isnt like i go around arguing with people about actual mustang things...i am more concerned with the actual running of the forum...while there are lots of people who know more about mustangs than do i, i probably know more about running a forum than anyone here...i can almost promise that...and sidewayz does know alot about mustangs...just because his sig pic is a GTO..he does still have a mustang, and prior to moving it, he had a pretty stout mustang...and hes building one now...

 either way I like the site anyways......And will still be here no matter what ,unless you guys get sick of me and ban me firstAnd yes I do agree that you know more about running a forum, but dreamweaver is also said to be one of the easiest programs in the internet world.And sidwayz oviously you like stangs or you wouldnt be here so the picture means nothing to me.I know your just trying to cover your deep love for the crapcan mustang thats deep down inside

Same with me, I have a nice 94 GT but to me it's really slow and I like getting comments about my LS1 and being a Stang site. Plus now that I have a cool sig pic, I don't want to change it.
99Saleen.. Sidewayz has been a mod here for a long time, he joined this site when he had his 99 Stang Vert. I don't think that just because he chose to sell the Vert and buy a different car he should be de-modded, he does a good job as mod, plus when he is done with his project Fox body he will once again have a fast Stang to cruise around in.

if nothing else, i no more about cars in general than some people here, and from what ive seen..i somehow know more about mustangs than some people here...but im not here to preach about mustangs or dodges or anything else...just here to deal with the forum as a whole...and lend a non-biased opinion when need be
