im out last night cruising aroung with my steeda/cobra replica and i head out to the spot .... for all of you that doesn't know what the spot is..is where everybody gets together at imports and domestics* then theres this guy that im stationed with he has an eclipse Turbocharge pushing about 16 pounds of boost with all types of G-reddy stuff and all sorts of intakes "cams" and other s**t ok i have a brand new 03 GT that i bought in june* it has a bad ass kit on the cobra R front end and other s**t but as far as mods go i have a superchip, X pipe, pulleys, k&N filter and street tires ok it is basically stock no gears no nothing but to show you the power of a raw stang vs an eclipse with about 9 gran in it* we lined up* and bang i jumped on him and then i messed up i missed 3rd couldn't help do to the stock shifter but then we lined up again an i new not to make the same mistake 3rd horn and we were off man i jumped and again on him and by the time i was in 3rd i was a full car lengh against* him then he tried to catch up i threw it into 4rth and all he could see was the words mustang from my rear bumper hahahahahahahahahahaha i wish i could have dropped 9 gran into my car too bad for him it didn't pay off!!!!!<edited><editID>Admin</editID><editDate>38028.6537152778</editDate></edited>

IT really depends on the generation. I like the look of the first gen but LOVE the 2nd gens. They aren't that quick stock, but they look all bling and whatnot. <IMG src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"></P>

yeah, post 97 second gen is nice. 9k in a DSM should wreck shop, especially if it was an AWD, but im guessing it wasnt

yeah i was specting to get killed too don't get me wrong but yeah this eclipse was a 95 96 i think thats what he told me trust me man it wasnt stock that big ass intercooler didn't say it was stock and the headers and all the other s**t under the hood but call it luck but when he was spinning i was pulling off but i agree it was ugly it was like a light purpleish color but any how thats one more for the good guys

how do you figure he had 9 grand into itlol. if you want to get technical your the ricer for putting on a body kit especially before mods. You ran an eclipse on a stock turbo with a $50boost controller thats why his max boost was 16psi. </P>

yeah...im thinking even more now...if he were smart enough to do much with 9k then he would have started with an AWD and i dont think he did...either the guy was a fool or didnt have 9 in it

yeah if i was about to get any eclipes it would have to be the gsx, and that would be if i HAD to but.....if he had upgraded his turbo you would be toast.,anddits hard to get a jump on any front wheel drivecar(i dont mean any but you know what i mean) nevermind a awd.i like my mustang.

awds are sweet though because you can run grippy tires (not drag radials) and still have the super launch. although a fwd or rwd with the same power would pull it on the highway

i thought on the gst and gsx they refer to it as an exhaust manifold, unlike the header found on the rs and gs models. and was the $9000 spent on engine mods or was some ofit spent on other stuff like body modications, suspension and stuff not pertaining to the engine. because a turbo eclipse with $9000 worth of performance mods should easily have won. </P>

you don't put a header on a turbo Eclipse... you can't. The exhaust manifold is made to work with the turbo that you have, since the turbo is run off the exhaust gasses. I'm calling MAJOR bs on this.

good win if its all true, he coulda been BSing about all the stuff he has done, those turbos are fast, pieaces of crap but when they hit boost theyll get going. my frined had a 98 gst with downpipes and full exaust, intake, boost controller running 15 pounds, we raced from a stop and due to traction i had him by about half a car, from a roll he has a car on me before i can even get the pedal on the floor!.. i do have a 99 automatic with just exuast, but owell i spank the rice! <IMG src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"></P>

there's a 1st gen talon awd around louisville with some serious mods around 6 grand i think and i watched him destroy everyone.. 9 grand in a turbo car and a stock gt is toast.
