stock mustangs cant handle that well, we all know it.  it's not all about handling.  but compare it to a Q400 or other steeda mustangs and that argument is gone.

not to mention price, but a well optioned Q will run ya 19015 over the price of a gt....hmm....looks like vettes and Q's cost the same...which is a superior machine?  hmm...i dont know...

First off, get an article that isn't microscopic.  While I did manage to see the numbers, 12.179 is impressive, but it was on drag radials.  So you're still around the performance of a stock Z06.  Now, Vette owners, including me, don't give a crap about the money argument.  No offense, but I'm not looking for all out cheap performance.  If I were concerned about that, I would have chosen a Mustang.  I do not dislike the Cobra and think it's a great car, but I bought the Vette because it's superior.  Now, you are comparing a highly priced modded mustang to stock corvettes.  If I take the same $20,000 you spend on the Steeda, add it to my Vette, I will literally leave your Steeda crying.  I'm sorry, but a car that has the dimensions of a mustang is not going to be as track worthy as a Vette.

No, you spend $22k on a Gt, give it to Steeda and $20k, and you do not have a factory production car.  It's just like me sending my car to Ligenfelter.  Also, Where are you finding a Vette for $45k???  the cheapest I've seen is $49k.

You would have to suck pretty bad to not be a good driver at 50mph+.   I gave you the link where you said they are really close, which to me is hanging with.  Now, my point was this.  If a 15 hp less car is supposed to hang, if not beat according to some in this forum, shouldn't a 25 hp greater than car smoke the Z06.  The convertible doesn't weigh that much more than the Coupe, with both being about 500lbs heavier than the Z.  Even with a passenger, the car with the greater hp got smoked pretty bad and could not even hang.  Do you really believe a Coupe would make up that difference?

By the way, yes, the Z06 did have a passenger.

Ford will never put out something that will beat or hang with the new GT.  The new Z06 with 500 hp should hang with a GT because it is lighter 3100lbs vs. 3500lbs.  Now, GM is also speaking of a Vette with 625hp called Blue Devil, but it will be in the $100k range.  I'm not afraid to admit though that the GT will smoke everything in the twisties.  See, I'm not afraid to admit fault in my car.  Give up, just give up!!!

Check out any Vette forum.  The new  coupes will have 400hp, and Dave Hill, Chief Designer, has mentioned this.  They plan to make the Vette king once again, where Viper currently is at this time.  In fact, check out www.corvetteforum.com for all C6 inquiries.  I am only stating what is speculated by all Vette enthusiasts, and most of it is substantiated by fact and fact alone.
