Well i think the biggest differance in the saleen motors over the past say 15 maybe 20 years is the change over to the modular motor in 1999 i think.

Your average "Saleen motor" is nothing more then a GT motor.

Actually, a S281 is N/A. It is a GT motor. I promise you. NA 2v. Suspension, exterior and interior upgrades come with the Saleen badges.... unless you go with the SC or E..... and as far as the SC I think it was a Series IV Saleen supercharger... twin screw and maybe intercooled... and that only put the car to something like 370-375 horse at the crank. And the other catch was the SC cost $43K new(in 03/4) (or vert for like $46k-$48k). The E on the other hand used the Saleen Series V s/c that put it at like 450 horse.... and cost nearly $65k.

Hey bramas - how many miles on that 85?? Any interest in selling it? I'm always on the look for a mint, low mileage, un-molested '85.

Funny you should ask I was just thinking I need to sell the 85. It is about to turn 91,000 miles and this car is very un-molested I wouldnt say the car is Mint but it is very close let me know if you want to see more pictures.

Where are you located and how much are you thinking? I'd like to have very low miles, and close to mint - but I could settle for 90k miles if was easy to get it back to show condition

Can you tell me whats wrong with it both mechanically and cosmetically? If you have some pics (both inside & outside) that you can send me, I'm at sowaxeman@insightbb.com
