Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is vinny and i have been a mustang person since i rode in my aunts 65 3 speed convertible 34 years ago. Since then i have owned 6 mustangs, my recent one i bought 2 two months ago. It's a 1988 lx 5.0 5 speed. i am currently going over the whole car and fixing problems as i find them. one problem i have been working on is my speedometer is not working, i know the previous owner and he told me that the tranny was replaced several months ago and that the mechanic did not install the gear clip that goes into the gear in the tranny. This he told me keeps the speedometer from working because it is not engaged all the way, and the only way to get to this area is to drop the tranny. it's a manual tranny and my question is there any way to get around this? Or if i have to drop the tranny how much clearance do i need? Can i raise the front on wheel ramps and have enought room? Any help would be appreiciated! Thanks! Vinny
