Newbie to this board here, and may I say VERY COOL group of members here!
We made a gift of my 95 Coupe to my daughters on their 16th birthday. I would like to swap the DIN Pioneer headunit I had installed in the 'Stang with the "DIN and a half " Delco unit from my new car.
Has anyone here installed a DIN and a half unit in a Mustang? If so, any modding and installation tips? I am assuming I will have to break into the "cubby" space below the dash audio opening for this taller unit, but any help on making it look "finished" would be greatly appreciated.

you would be better off just buying an aftermarket radio to replace the pioneer. if you are really wanting to cut the dash, go for it. .buy a generic dash kit with the blank abs plastic 12x12 square.. the typical wiring from gm to ford is that ford uses inverse wire codes.. gm radios tend to use darks as positives in both the front and the back where as ford uses dark positives in front and light in back... i think, its been a while.. let me get to my house and look at my old tech book

i would stick with the din sized radio, they fit and look great, sounds like alot of custom work to put in a dinand a half, and not be sure how it will look when finished!! Just my.02

It just refers to the size of the radio, most typical aftermarket radios are din size, (most common) then you can also find din and a half and double din. In a 95 mustang a din size is the same size as the factoy unit. Only in the mustang there are actually 2 separate din openings, if you have the mach 460 aone unit is a cassette deck and the other is the cd player, if not you will have a single deck and a storage compartment. Not sure of the exact dimension but almost all aftermarket radios are din size.
