They showed the STi and the mods to it and I thought ok...he's running 12.8-13.3...he has a chance against a Cobra. Then they showed the mods to the SVT and the dyno run numbers and I thought no way the STi will have a chance <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley3.gif border="0"><edited><editID>Admin</editID><editDate>38028.4048842593</editDate></edited>

Why do the ricers think it will be any different from another speed? I mean like if ya git left form a 20 mph roll and the car just leaves you like you arent moving, then startin from a faster speed wont help. You are just slow. It looks to me tht even if the STi got a jump from the hole with the clutch killin 6k drop that the Stang would reel him in before the 1/8 mile. And people think those things are fast, okay whatever......

M-n-Ltunuing
12-29-2003, 07:09 PM
they think those are fast, cuz always when they see them its only out the hole that those cars jump in front of you. But many people don't know that these cars after shifting to 3 or 4 gear they loose power and then they catch speed slower than they would be in first or in second. Same like you would have to Eclipses one AWD and one front wheel drive turbo, run them out the whole the awd will take it dirty but run them on a 45mph roll on you will see the front wheel drive way ahead of the awd.</P>

Why's that? He knows he raced a highly modified car. The STi is a badass car. But he should stick to racing EVOs.</p><edited><editID>Admin</editID><editDate>38028.4052546296</editDate></edited>

lol you guys give the sti no credit at all, if he spent a little $$, im sure he could give that cobra a run for his money, especially from a stop. and about the 470rwhp, im not sure if i beleive it. i would think traction would be some what aslight prob... i didnt here the tires spin once. ive seen cobras with with kenne bells on them at the track, with stock rims and street slicks, they spin all day long.</P>

I didn't hear his tires spin, you can't hear my tires spin...you hear the motor bog while it revs, I definitely heard that from the Cobra...

you are kidding right?? Did you see how hard he pulled on him at all speeds except for 0?? lol... And sure it could probably spin, thats why you feather the pedal, and not stomp on it suddenly... As hard as he was pulling, he could spin them if he wanted to act silly and possibly lose or wreck!</P>

are you kidding?if he has 470rwhp and his tires dont spin at 20 mph punch there is a problem or from 2nd to third ger you dont hear some scratch. that sti with a new turbo on race gas would give that cobra a run for its money from a stop

A new turbo on race gas??? Anything else in your fantasy world you want to add to*the car???lol..* He could light them up if he wanted to show off.* He was racing, you don't punch it to the floor at those speeds with lots of power on street tires.</p>

damn this mustang forum totally sucks...all people seem to do is fight and disbelieve each other. why dont you guys just get along, and when someone disagrees with you, not get all bitchy about it. the whole point of a forum is to see what other people have to say. not only what you wanna say.

lmao ok newb. ive owned a 450 rwhp cobra before unlike yourself.*that car would probably run high to mid 11s. An awd sti or evo on 25 psi on a 50 trim would beat that all day. go back to your trailor. have you heard of drag radials? you can still get decent catch with street tires. you dont feather the gas pedal.</p>

I agree with you, but Thats the problem man...no one here wants to learn anything about Hondas or Chevy's, etc. All some people care about are the cars they have. Which is fine, but if you don't know who you're racing, then how do you know you'll beat him? <IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0"></P>

yea those awd off the line are crazy because the get to have the 5500 rpm launch. what type of supercharger are you running? Running 8lbs of boost and getting 450whp is pretty sweet. i take it you have a 4.6? </p><edited><editID>Admin</editID><editDate>38028.4110185185</editDate></edited>

well let me say this if you look at some older post we all did get along until a new wave of people started coming in and starting it.....I have been a engine builder for over 25 years...and some of these hp numbers alot claim is just laughable....as any have read my posts I don't give out hp number out of my cars unless a have a dyno number, people ask and maybe I'll give an est....so alot of the fight is people giving just bs number and want to fight about all you have to do is video tape your dyno session and that will shut up people ragging your number but fighting about hp numbers is just plain stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and so are 1/4 times same thing video tape it...gone are taken anyone's word for it on-line<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0"> <edited><editID>Admin</editID><editDate>38028.4123263889</editDate></edited>

AWD has approximately a 40% drivetrain loss. Hardly anyone thinks of that....ever.....

Yeah screw those imports for some reason they run cicles around my wickedV6 hopefully when I get my larger non functional hoodscoop and sidevents It will give me the more HP that I need. Im sure you can relate when I point out that technology is scary. I wish we could go back to the days where horsepower could be mesured by how many of them (horses) were pulling you along. I dread the day Ford decides to update there chasis to modern day technology too I dont know what I would do without all that body roll.</P>
