I just had to post here after reading this mess. Mainly b/c my brother in law is an Audi guy. He is also a general car type as well as an SCCA licensed driver. When he and I talk we both agree that stock for stock the Mustang is way better in a stright line, and the Audi is better in the turns.
However, he is a much more experienced twisty driver than I am. If I put him in my Mustang and me in his Audi, odds are pretty good that the Mustang is gonna win on the road course. Road racing is about 40% car and 60% driver. Another example, a Miata has about 1/3 my RWHP, but and experienced driver will kill me and my Mustang on an autocross course.
So, my point is, when you argue twisties, it's pointless to do it without discussing driver ability. Stick a crappy driver in that Audi and it might as well be a '72 Grand Fury, it'll be that slow.
Wow I can't believe I didn't get in on this. I need to start reading these more often. Man these Audi guys are great, you LS1 guys have some competition now. Wait we had one BMW in there. They talk about american cars falling apart I think BMW was the 3 worst car manufacturer in the world last year. Lets hope they pick things up this year. All of this talk about the twisties. I can spend $500 and make any German car look like the POS it is. Hell take a stock Saleen they will destroy an Audi or BMW in the twisties. Thats a mustang they didn't bring that up though. And the fact that the new Saleen is only boosting 3lbs and puts out 400hp says a lot for the car. I have driven Audi's they are just like a VW Jetta. And I have probably been in more BMW and got to drive them than that mamas boy driving his moms car. My car the way it sits now with me driving mine and them driving theres I will destroy you in the twisties cause like he said its all about the driver.
Fallout is only 16 just got his liscense and doesn't even have a car yet. So how can you even talk boy go and get your brothers hand me down and keep suckin his dick for more free stuff.
Idriveam3 just got his first mod on his car how sweet. He finally pop that cherry and he did it redneck style with liquid nails to hold it together. Maybe you spent too much on the car to afford real mods. Or you can go and get a job and get off mamas nipple.
Toffee hell hes almost thirty and already going through his mid life crisis but he got an audi instead of a sports car. I guess you had to get a family car so you can drive mom around so she will let you stay in her basement for free.

Different strokes for different folks, it all comes down to what each individual prefers. Who really cares as long as your happy with your own car, and this arguement is basically comparing apples to oranges.

Or if you over oil the K&N, and not let it dry it will damage your sensors.. simple! hence better off taking care with K&N, and keeping it in standard airbox. By the way, already had a sportscar. A 300 bhp modded MR2 Turbo. That was a car. Fast in straight line, AND fast in the twisties! By the way, whoever siad "who races in the twisties"... erm..that will be nearly every race series on the planet, except for those really crap nascar/Indy oval things... Christ, they are boring! You guys really should take a pisstake more on the chin, rather than getting all hot under the collar!

With the exception to 2000Si most other ricers are dicks like these guys. You think your car is so superior to an american car. You have had 1 experience with an automatic v6 conv and you think the audi a4 is a beter car. maybe if you are playing soccer mom or getting some groceries. My car is lowered and thats all i have done to the suspension and i will walk that sorry pos in a road course. go back to the audi forum and sell your ignorance there we are not interested.
