Default 05' muffler ?

I am not sure if it is just me but, I would like my saleen a little bit louder. I was wondering if anyone had done a muffler change or read up on one. I would like to make my car louder but I have no idea where even to start looking for a saleen. Miss the sound of my 01 cobra with basani x-pipe and cat back. Just trying to see whats out there for options for the 05' thanks in advance.

Have you bypassed the valves yet to open up the turn-down tips? That made a considerable difference on the low rev rumble. Mine actually seems to be getting louder as the break in miles go by I bypassed mine at 400 something miles and it made a noticeable difference. I now have almost 900 miles and its louder yet.

I would start with better headers and a non-cat. H or X pipe if you really want to get it loud. I will probably do that to mine once the warranty is gone. If you change the mufflers, you'll have to find somebody to do it custom with those center tips, unless somebody eventually makes a specific system for the '05

Thanks for the info. I do have the new MM&FF but haven't got a chance to read it. Did you notice the headrests are messed up on that one. Least I got mine fixed with no problem. I think I will try the by pass trick and see where that takes me.

So, one more question. Will all 05' mustang exhaust fit on my 05' saleen. Looking into a 05 mustang bassani x pipe. Not sure what headers yet though. Just want to make sure this will work before I spend the cash. I know x-pipe back is different and I wont be able to do anything there until someone makes one just for our cars. Doing the exhaust valve trick tomorrow too. Thanks again all.

Any aftermarket headers and H or X pipe should work - the Saleen exhaust is an axel back system only, the way I understand it.

Thank you, I had it up in the air last night and checked it out. While the car was in the air I did the whole exhaust mod. It took me like 2 minutes to do the whole job. Instead of screws on the vacum lines I use vacum plugs they seemed to work well. I am very impressed on how much better it sounds already. Thanks again
