Hi everybody! The screen name is my real name. I am 17, entering my senior year in high school and don't have a mustang YET. I am currently looking for a V6 mustang. I was introduced into the wonderful world of cars about a year ago by an ex-boyfriend and now am totally hooked.
I love driving Leadfoot's GT and attending any car related event such as drag strips, mud bogging, and car shows.
I am here because my mom said this is the best forum on the net when it comes to answering technical questions, learning about what's under the hood, as well as other things. Be it good or bad.

Justin, I think her mom Denise is looking for more of a 94-96... I know my insurance on my 00 is quite a bit, and I'm 19. Can't imagine how much it'd be for a 17 year old. Ack! Insurance sucks. [:'(]
She's reconsidering the 94-95 v6 because of what people have said about the electrical problems. The mileage on those are higher than she would like as well. We are looking for something under 100K because it's got to last 4-6 years until I am self-supporting. She was going on the price range of $4K or less but we are discussing that I pay $4K and the parents chip in $2K. I would love to have a V8, but the cost of gas and insurance is going to kill me.
I would like a screaming yellow, but red and blue are good too.

Insurance sucks no matter how old you are, but there is little to no difference between 17 and 19. Plus, girls pay less because they think you drive in a more sedate manor. Anyway, avoid red Crystal, as the insurance costs more. Black is hot and, like white, hard to keep clean. I'd go blue, but I'm a little partial. I'm not sure if the insurance is more expensive for yellow. I don't believe it is. Have your mom check with the insurance company for sure. Also, ABS will give you a discount and so will good grades, so study hard. Good luck and I hope you find your ride soon.
