I have seen bone stock mach 1s run low 13s.  So it would be a good race to see.

I've seen a SS beat the balls off a Mach 1.  But the next race i saw a 03 Cobra beat the balls of a Z06.  So if felt better.

Sorry I cant answer your question man, but something to consider is, even tho the machs have the same motor as a 96-98 cobra, they run nearly 1 second faster in the 1/4

First off, the Mach 1 DOES NOT, repeat DOES NOT have the same engine as the 96-98-01 Cobra! The aluminum block is an all new American-made casting, not the one made in Italy for the Cobra. The Mach 1 has different cams from the Lincoln Navigator, which give it more low-end torque than the Cobra. The intake is different. The heads are the same heads as the 03-04 Cobra with better flowing exhaust ports, along with port-matched exhaust headers. I hope that clears that up.

Now, as far as a Z28, I can hang with any STOCK Z28, SS, or WS6, period! I included a dyno chart of my almost totally stock Mach 1.

Yea, Evan Smith got the 5 speed Mach 1 to a 13.15 at Englishtown, he also got the 30th anniversary auto TA to a 13.13. So, it's gonna come down to the driver.

yeah, you guys have valid points here. The mach 1 is exactly what ford needed to produce. It has a stupidly underrated '305' horsepower and 320 ft/lbs. At any rate, it doesn't matter what ford put out for the ratings (just like the newer cobras) all that matters is how it performs. I just think it is crazy how Subarus can go about as fast as them in the quarter mile, yet only trap at 100-103 mph? WTF? That's all right, the mach and cobras smoke them on the freeway though.

Mach is a nice set up. Much nicer then the Z28 IMO.

Z28's are weak stock.

The 5 speed Mach1's are badass, but the auto's aren't all that. Between the power sucking auto and the 1k lower redline, the auto isn't much better than a GT

IDK where that came from? Not to start a big flame war or anything, but how can you justify that?

Eh, I still don't know what you mean. Oh well. The new ones are the fastest ones they've ever made. Not the 68-69. Although, the 68-69 look sweet as hell.

Ok sorry the Mach 1s are freaking awsome and i want one but no freaking way you gonna hang with a WS6 . Sorry . Not even a bad driver. And that 280 rwhp is nice but not enough to get it done. A 01 and 02 WS6 328 Rwhp have dyno to proof. My buddy and i have beaten both on track and street the mach1 and 03 cobra i do have some film footage that will be posted as soon as i get this web site up. Im not bashing my favorite car just putting down the truth. He did have a 150 shot installed and has dyno number with that as well this car is a beast and he has now a ATI Procharger. So maybe your diffention of hanging is a car legth or 2 behind a WS6 and thats fine then you are doing good. His car stock runs 12.9s. Not starting fight just seen it way to much.

I test drove the 2003 Mach1...not your typical test drive...the salesman was about 25 yrs old and was out to show this old guy(37) up. My wife was in car so I think he was showing off..NO..I know he was showing off..my wife is not bad to look at if you know what I mean. ANYWAYS..he took the car up highway 41 here in Fresno Cal, and out into the country. Nobody around...this guy was talking some smack about his tough truck and how he post 12's in it at the track all the while whipping around corners and mashing the gas in the straightaways. I sat there calmly waiting for my turn. After about ten minuets of his bull$hit talk and driving he handed the car over to me and said "Head back to the lot..but becareful this car is quick"..Obviously..after that remark i could do nothing else but smash the gas right out of 1st...this fool NOW decides to put his seat belt on..LOL..and I took him for the ride of his life...REDLINING and POWER SHIFTING the whole way...even passed up the off ramp to the dealership so I could work the MACH1 even more( the whole time my wife in the backseat with a smile on her face) Anyways this punk salesKID was quiet the whole time..only asking me/bothering me too "watchout for this turn..its hairy" once. So i floored it thru the turn and caught a glimse of his feet trying to put the brakes on from the passenger side.LOL
Anyways as far as the MACH1 goes..that car is WICKED QUICK and if not for one bad spot on my credit i would have a different Members name The shaker hood wood be better looking if it wasnt plastic charcoal but the same color as the car itself and MEDAL.
If the Z28 (never drove one YET) is anything like the MACH1 in handling( it handled just fine thru the turns..much better then my GT) and speed then I give my props to Chevy and anyone who drives one.

I still love my GT

Congrats on having a killer car, got any pics? Besides, post what you said about not running 12.9's on any LS1 forum, see what they say. Hell, MM&FF got a WS6 to 13.10 with an auto.

Insiders at Ford say the Mach 1 is underrated and produces 320 Hp / 340 ft/lbs torque
