Sorry I cant answer your question man, but something to consider is, even tho the machs have the same motor as a 96-98 cobra, they run nearly 1 second faster in the 1/4</P>
First off, the Mach 1 DOES NOT, repeat DOES NOT have the same engine as the 96-98-01 Cobra! The aluminum block is an all new American-made casting, not the one made in Italy for the Cobra. The Mach 1 has different cams from the Lincoln Navigator, which give it more low-end torque than the Cobra. The intake is different. The heads are the same heads as the 03-04 Cobra with better flowing exhaust ports, along with port-matched exhaust headers. I hope that clears that up.
Now, as far as a Z28, I can hang with any STOCK Z28, SS, or WS6, period! I included a dyno chart of my almost totally stock Mach 1.

Yea, Evan Smith got the 5 speed Mach 1 to a 13.15 at Englishtown, he also got the 30th anniversary auto TA to a 13.13. So, it's gonna come down to the driver.
yeah, you guys have valid points here. The mach 1 is exactly what ford needed to produce. It has a stupidly underrated '305' horsepower and 320 ft/lbs. At any rate, it doesn't matter what ford put out for the ratings (just like the newer cobras) all that matters is how it performs. I just think it is crazy how Subarus can go about as fast as them in the quarter mile, yet only trap at 100-103 mph? WTF? That's all right, the mach and cobras smoke them on the freeway though.
