i have raced a z28 before i got my s/c and i won that race.I would suppose that in the end it may come down to the driver but if the drivers are equal i would say the mach shouldnt have too much of a problem, not trying to take anything away from the camaros im sure there nice.

maby, but the mach is said to be underated and the ram air does and hp,not a great deal but every bit helps.Hard to find the true dyno numbers with out a fan or something that can direct high mph winds into the shaker. In the end it will be decided on the street and not by numbers.
In any case should be real fun for the guys racing.

I really dont think your going to see anything noticable until you get into the extreme end of your speedometer (120 +). That air still has to go thru the maze of piping to get it thru the mam and into the engine.
In any case, I cannot imagine a ram air system on a modern car (due to the piping) adding anything more than 5-6 HP, and I think that is being fairly optimistic. Its not like the 60s where it dumped it basically straight thru the filter and into the engine. Even in that case the difference was nothing monumental.

I test drove the 2003 Mach1...The shaker hood wood be better looking if it wasnt plastic charcoal but the same color as the car itself and MEDAL.
I still love my GT
Glad to hear you liked your test drive! As for the shaker, it IS METAL! It's cast aluminum and is produced from an original casting of the 1969 version.

Werd. I've tried to tell some of these guys this for a while. When I was looking for a ram air setup for the TA, every site I went to said that a CAI is basically the same thing. The sites said that at 100mph I'd gain 1% hp over the CAI. It's mainly for looks.

Oh sorry..my bad! I never actually touched the hood..just looked at it. Maybe they could have polished it up a bit..it still looks plastic to me. Anyways..its still a beautiful machine. And I wish I had one. :) but thats o.k...im headed into my 40's soon and I see a Vette in the future. Hopefully in the near future. Nothing better then American Muscle V8 power!

Actually, I have seen pics on other boards where the shaker is either completely polished or only the fins on the shaker are polished. Either way, the shaker looked great ... I just haven't got the guts to do it ... I did, however put in some old school hood pins from Ford Motor Sports.

Not trying to start a flame war, but my 01 SS went 13.7 @ 107 mph the first time I had it at the track, AND I forgot to turn off the traction control (rookie mistake I felt dumb) my 60' was a 2.5 it has since gone faster but it is not stock anymore
Ok well you guys wanted numbers and proof here ya go on that WS6 12.9 with Nitto tires. Also you can get Dyno numbers from the LS1 web site where he hangs out. I wouldnt make up anything to support the other team guys. This WS6 isnt a freak either cause when im at the track the other ones including Z28s from 98 on up are running low 13s to upper 12s STOCK. Unless Nittos change the words stock. The Dyno numbers are typical from what the shop said. if you wanna see the run its @www.gignchips.com and go to the mustang link on left and watch the videos dated in march of this year. I didnt film the dyno you have to go over to LS1 to see it or i can have him E-mail it. The car now has a ATI Supercharger these days and we are going back to the track today so look for some new video. Also he is looking to sale it for 24k awsome deal. He is moving soon soon and re deploying to Iraq so he doesnt wanna pay on a car he cant drive so if you guys are interrested send me a PM. We rebuild the motor ..Has New cam ,new Crank heads have been polished with new springs and new pistons to handle higher boost.Right now the car is using 7psi.But can handle over 12 easy cause of the lower compression. And im sorry fellas serious even on the street when it was bone stock .We beat a 03 cobra/a mach1 orange.I have seen auto mach 1 hit 13.6s at the track but still these cars havent given the WS6 any problems. The Cobra Kill is on film at gignchips . Hey JD dude let me know when that film comes out dude i wanna see it. I love street racing when its done professionally we all know its illegal but thats how drag racing got started hehehhe owell later fellas. If you have any questions just reply. You all can see my 14. sec pass in my Stock 5.0 at that site also. i own the white GT vert and that Ugly green blue one in the last 2 videos.I did the 14.022 in the green one maybe today il hit 13.9 stock today . Gonna remove sway bar see if it helps.
the mach should smoke the z28 in the 1/4 mile...from 70mph on..hardly anything touches the f bodies..i cant stand them but dang they are fast when they get up in speed..ive seen a stock mach i run 13.40s before and ive also seen MANY camaros and t/as run low 14s high 13s
OK, here we go again. I ran a an 04 Mach 3 times in a row last year on our 1/8th, he had a pulley, full exh, and CAI w/ a M5. our r/t's were almost exact, my 60' was just barely ahead of him and our ET's were .001 apart all 3 times. I did beat him all 3 times but we were "diggin nails" in the steering wheel every run. Now at the time I had K&N filter, hooker cat-back w. 2.73, A4 and all the free mods for the f-bod. I will say we were damn close runnin 8.70's. Stock to stock, the mach will run with the Z's till the top end, then the LS1 tends to pull away. But to take on a M6 Z, I believe the Z would walk away due to being able to get a higher rpm launch and having the 3.42's. From a 35mph roll, I have proved to walk away from a Mach. But they are so close, it is a driver's race

My friend Micheal has a 92 z28 F-body, with an 01 LS1 6spd swap, along with comps cam intake, and full suspension mods and some other bolt-ons, he dynoed 365hp and 380 at the wheels, I've only got the chance to race him rolling, but my 1st threw 3rds Im about 2 car lenghts on him and going but when I hit forth he jsut starts to pull back on me steady, he also has 4:10 gears with more hp, after my s/c is on I know he wont stand a chance but still... My 99 cobra only has minor bold ons.... But I would take him at the track im shure of as of now because I have new tires and I can catch traction, while his tires are like onion peals now after all his showing off... I wont to make a video this weekend
