Talk to the people that run the tests as well as local mechanics.

Generally the best source of info can be found at the source.

How'd you do at the testing?

According to the guys who dyno tuned my truck you can lean out the mixture quite a bit (you won't create any power, but it'll pass emissions). Just a suggestion.

You are gonna have a hard time getting a carbed motor to pass as a 94. Best bet is to take it in to a tech and have them set you up. Or, here in Illinois, you can have them check the #'s on the motor and test it for that year. I had an old stepside that had a 351W from a mid 70's torino in it and the #'s were behind the flywheel. I ended up with a lifetime emissions exemption from the state.

That's my dream. How old does a car have to be to be exempt? Isnt' there a law about that here? 15 years or something?

1970 and back is where exemption on most cars start....either that or just move over here to Florida....no emissions testing here any longer....Before I use to have to go to my tech shop and have them swap out some exhausts for me everytime for inspections....cost a little more, but I drove around with just pipes for the rest of the year.

Now FL is emissions test free.....I ain't moving from here.

Don't most states test emissions for the year of the car,not the year of the motor?A carbed, non cat equiped windsorwon't pass most states testing.
