The day after christmas, i am getting a FLowmaster American Thunder Series Cat Back installed. I talked to the guys also about cutting off my catalic Converter. HE is going to do so, but i had to order a sixty dollar part to put on my 02 censor to make the 02 censor not mess up or something like that. I think he said a simulator. But i dont know.</P>
But ill let you guys know how it sounds.</P>

on average....425 horsepower turbo buicks and SBF's pick up 25 horses by switching form 2 chamber Flows to Dynomax Ultraflow.....and 40-50 by going to Magnaflows.

but that's moving so much more air through it that i almost find it unapplicable. on a stock or minorly modded engine sound over performance isn't that much of a sacrafice.</P>
Depends on future applications. If you want a ratio (guestimate) of what you can gain, multiply current power output (at the wheels, or just multiply your guestimate flywheel by .8) by .07, which will give a theoretical yeild (keep in mind that with the variables of the "average power of a turbo buick and a turbo ford" and their gains...number were acheived with 430 horses and 30 hp gain for the ultraflow) when switching to Ultraflows.
Say you make 250 horses at the rear...that's 17.5 horses that you can gain just by switching over to Ultraflow.....it's not "unapplicable".
If you want a average for Magnaflow, try doing the above but multiplying by .1....in the above example, you would gain 25 horses....keep in mind these are estimated numbers and will depend greatly on how much your intake is opened up and your cat back (and if you have an X or H pipe) since it is all relative to each other.
very estimated. i guarantee that grand national is far wider open due to cam, heads, and intake at the least, once again making the difference in performance on a stock/near stock motor not great enough to outweigh the sound (to some people)
You apparently didn't catch the Turbo Mustang, and it was definately not a V6 or I4.
Where the heck are you getting your conclusions from man, a better flowing muffler will help any car perform better!
Take a gander at multiplying by .05 and .08, that's still a 12.5 and 20 horse gain respectively. I'm willing to bank that those aren't negligable either, not to mention how the Flowcrappers inhibit flow worse and worse the more you modify.
