haha that would be sweet. i like the cuda render but like someone said looks kinda like a charger. not that the charger is a bad looking car but then again its not the 68 Charger we all think of.

those two new concepts (cuda and challenger) look freak'n amazing. I hope that once they come out that they really push Ford's bottons so we can MUSCLE CAR ERA 2!!!!!!

ahh well i think those pics are good but its only somethin someone designed themselves prolly wont look anything like the new cars... if Dodge was tryin to compete with the '05 Mustang they would have had a car ready by the time it came out like in '64 they had the Valiant Fastback (Barracuda) it didnt compete too well but Dodge wouldnt have waited 5 years to come out with a half way competitive car like now if they were tryin to compete with the new Mustang. by then it will be the old mustang and people will be tired of it. they will want something that not 500,000 other people have so they will buy something with better performance and more reliable like the new Charger or Challenger... yea i realize its a Mustang forum but i saw this so i signed up i dont like Ford btw...lol

Some of you guys act like the 05 Stang was the first retro car to come out. Don't forget the Beetle and the PT Cruiser (both of which sold very well) then there is/was the T-bird (over priced and under powered) the Prowler (WAY underpowered). Ford did a great thing with the 05 but I bet the retro trend either dies or becomes overly done by 2010. If the Challenger does make a come back, it will need to be a 350+hp 2 door rear drive coupe and convertible to be a real player, Diamler really messed up with Charger, they would have been better off just making up a new name, because the Mopar loyalists will not buy a 4 door Charger.

You forgot the first year of Chevy SS (retro pickup), like the Prowler, it was underpowered and didn't sell well. I hear the new one with more power is selling better though.

aren't they one in the same?? (shows my lack of knowledge on GM stuff) The El Camino thingy...the one they want 60K for that was slow as balls for what it was the first year out and they bumped up the HP this past year. I guess that would be the SSR since they have SS for all high performance versions of any Chevy car/truck.

I think you are both foolish. This is not a Ford forum, per say. Thas why the address is www.mustangforums.com. You won't ever catch me on a Ford only website, I can grant you that. I am a Dodge fan, and always will be. IMPO, Dodge builds the best looking and most powerful trucks on the market. (Please note the IMPO, I won't argue over this for it is only my opinion.) When I go to buy another truck, it will be another Dodge. I don't like any of Ford's vehicles, other than the Mustang. I have an obsession with them, which contributes to the reason why I own 2, and have owned 3 or 4 other ones. But like I said, as far as Ford goes otherwise, I'm just not a real big fan. And who knows, if Dodge had a pony car that competed with the Mustang for the same amount of change, I may not be here at all......

The foolish ones are the ignorants that think this is the only forum in existence. When I said Ford Forums, that's exactly what I meant, Ignorant fools that don't have nothing better to do but to go to Mustang, Marauder, SVT, Crown Vic (Ford Products, get it?) and don't have anything useful to contribute other than starting problems. Same apply for Ford owners that go to import, chevy, dodge forums and do the same. There are a few members of this forum that don't have a Mustang, but they don't start any sh*t.

Did know if you guys have seen this or not so I just wanted to share it with you. So what do you all thing, will the Dodge Challenger be able to compete with the mustang? Or will it fall to the waste side like all that have tried to compete?

Dodge preparing Challenger's return

Staff Report
13 June 2005

The Chrysler Group may place another model on the LX platform, this time a two door coupe. The goal for the Chrysler Group is to make a viable competitor to Ford's Mustang.

Planned to appear in 2009, the Dodge Challenger will be a 2010 model, and DCX hopes there will be enough demand to sell up to 70,000 vehicles per year.

Bring it. Dodge has nothing for under 65000 that can compete with 450+ RWHP in a shelby cobra.

not yet... and Shelby Cobra is going to be how much? well Mopar's new Hemi 6.1 Liter puts out 425 HP with 420 LBS ft Torque...stock... new Mustang is: 300 HP 320 Lbs Ft torque. stock for both. now if Dodge could get a halfway light, good looking, rear drive car they would have competition for the Mustang. I do like the new Mustang however and i doubt Mopar will make anything to compete with it cuz the new Mopar sucks. pre '75 Mopar could have made a better car but gah im not impressed with any new Mopars aside from the Viper. CHarger= Magnum is ok but definately not my style only thing half way cool is the 300C

yeah..they already tarnished the charger name...they might as well make the challenger a minivan.

They are just following in GMs foot steps... I mean look at the GTO!

Thats just your opinion. There are plenty of GTO forums, and many many people like them. Put it into perspective. I absolutely can't stand the 05 Mustang, so what else is out that I should go and buy? Would I have gotten another F body? Maybe, but aside from the performance factor, I personally think the GTO is a better deal. Others think differently.

As for the SSR, it is a bust. Even after they put the LS2 in it this year. They're still having trouble selling them. They tried, after seeing what the LS2 did for the GTO sales in 05. But it didn't work. It's an over priced retro wannabe convertible pick up, that isn't very practical if you ask me. They're trying to target a pick up buyer with something that can't be used like a pick up. Genius engineers I tell ya.

Talk of an 09 Challenger that looks like the concept art in this thread makes me happy in the pants that my Mustang will be paid off by then. Coincidence? I think not!
