alright guys, i was planning on rebuilding the motor in my 88 next spring. i was literally JUST offered a set of gt-40 heads with 1.6 rockers at lunch for $700. they're used maybe 3000 miles, nothing wrong with them. the seller is getting rid of his mustang, and he's selling these separate. good deal?? yes/no??? be honest!! how much are they new btw?

i'm not sure if they're aluminum or not, i'm gonna go look at them after work today. lets say they ARE aluminum, $700 a good price? and if not aluminum, still good price or no??
Edit :: ok, i just looked at some new ones on ebay --- $1000 for new aluminum gt-40x heads + shipping.
and $ $850 + shipping for regular ones.
either way it seems like a decent deal, so i guess i'll just check em out. still give me opinions tho, i'll check this throughout the day. thanks all.

if stock no its not. if modded then maybe. need more details are rocker roller or stamped?
is that referring to the heads being stock gt-40's??
and for the rockers, he said "they've already got 1.6 rockers on em too" i'll just have to wait and see them after work to tell the roller/stamped and aluminum heads i guess :P

that won't do it. i wouldn't have that kinda money to spend for a month or two anyway. i still gotta get my 88 running nice and smooth before i throw upgrades at it. thanks all.

you said they been redone. well what does that mean
for me if i say ill sell you a set of gtp heads that been redone. that would mean valve job, springs installed, ported polished, milled....in my eyes thats what it means and then that would be a good price but not just cleaned up
