im pretty sure you can get a stock 94-95 GT 5.0 for much less than 7k, ive seen a couple of 94-95 Cobras for around 8 to 10 grand.  i have a 94 gt 5.0 and trust me you wont be disapointed. i bought my car for 4 grand from my uncle im not sure what it has but  i belive it has a magnaflow, its manual trans. and its fast as fu*k, my car may have some mods that are hard to notice i dont know because the person my uncle bought it off from had it to race, and so do i .

Go with the fox bodied 302... you can get a pretty nice car with that kind of budget. Milky37972.7625925926

I've owned 1 1994 GT and 1 1995 GT convertible before I got my saleen. My dad had a 1995 GT convertible and he drove it to almost 200K miles (all stock) with no real problems (other than his alternator went out and something happened to his rear end that was a easy fix). Fox body style is real good as long as you use high quality gas and do routine maintenance. Parts are easy to find too.

In short 94 or 95 GT’s will get you your money’s worth.

87-92 LX.  You can get a nice one and have some $$$ to do some mods.

yeah, the 87-93 years of the 5.0 are available all over the country and performance parts can be found everywhere for them. The fuel injection adds to the price of your mods as you often change multiple things to add performance in a certain area. Gas mileage and daily driveability seems to improve though. If you're over 6' tall you may want to sit in a few first. It's been a while since i have but i'm 6'4" and being comfortable in it, just getting in and out was a chore. Not saying i wouldn't make it work though

I'm 6'3" and love the room in the FOX.  I'm skinny as hell, and haven't sat in the stang for a long time (winter storage) but didn't notice a problem getting in and out, other than my shoe laces getting caught in the pedals, lol.

Go with a 79-93 Fox Body theyre dirt cheap, light wieight.A very nice 5.0 manual can be had for roughly 3 grand, and that leaves more than enough money to get you into the 11's.

In order for us to answer this correctly we need to know what the car is intended for?Racing, drag, road and track, daily driver, street? What exactly are your intentions and goal for this car? Also whats your personal favorite?

A GTO over a MUSTANG?hahahhahaha yeah right! The GTO's were ugly looking cars in my oppinion.

I have a 98 Cobra, but some friends of mine have 94 and 95 5.0's. great cars, if you want a 5.0, don't go under 94, unless you like those body styles. the new 94-95 styles you can get just as fast, but they look nicer, hehe
