Default Newbie Exhaust Question

So, if I have read the threads correctly....

I had my mufflers cut off, so what did this entail?

HP/torque loss? Will I incur damage to the car?

Personally, I think it sounds great. But then again, I'm sure straight pipes coming out of 4 cats sounds better than coming out of 2. Did the newer GT's have 4 cats stock?

Again, a newbie question, so I'm expecting to get raped here.

With your blown Cobra, your torque gain wasn't as significant as your HP gain, thats all, you didn't lose ANYTHING. If your motor was naturally aspirated, you might actually see a minor torque loss, yet a huge hp gain. It'll still make you faster in the 1/4 mile...

Default Newbie Exhaust Question

thanks for the info Dan. Not much of a gearhead...(too much softball/golfing/fishing to do) Since you seem to know a little...are those Superchips worth a shyt? Would like to add a little power...(had an 03 Vette beat me by a half car length one nite..still a little mad at myself ). But...I would say an 03 Cobra is faster than 90% of what's on the street anyway. (the streets around here anyway)

Your Cobra, stock for stock is faster than that 03 Vette, unless it was a Z06.

Personally, I would go withdrag radials. If you plan on doing more mods, then look into getting a chip...if not...save your money.

get a chip and combine it with a 2.8upper pulley and 6lb lower pulley and idler, a timing adjuster would be good too like dan said drag radials will also help out check out the johnny lightning cold air intake for your car with some mods like this you should have no problem gettin into the 11's
